KALAMAZOO, Mich. \u2014 A 24-year-old male is in custody and being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail after deputies responded to reports of a man breaking into the Cooper Market late Friday evening. <\/p>\n
Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 8005 Douglas Avenue, also known as the Cooper Market in Cooper Township, at around 11:16 p.m. Friday night. <\/p>\n
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the market was closed for business, and upon arrival, they found that the suspect had used a brick to shatter the glass front door and enter the establishment. <\/p>\n
The suspect stole several items of merchandise and fled on foot before deputies could arrive. <\/p>\n
After obtaining a physical description of the suspect, the 24-year-old male was located lying down next to a building nearby. He was taken into custody without further incident. <\/p>\n
As of Saturday morning, Cooper Market is back open for regular business hours. <\/p>\n
