According to <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mountsinai.org\/health-library\/supplement\/chromium\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Mount Sinai: Chromium\">Mount Sinai\u2019s Health Library<\/a>, 90 percent of diets are deficient in this mineral.<\/p>\n<p>As DeChatelets explains, this particular supplement may help regulate blood sugar levels and reduce cravings, especially in those who are deficient. \u201cStable blood sugar levels are important for weight loss as it allows your body to more efficiently utilize fat for energy between meals,\u201d she notes.<\/p>\n<p>While Chromium from food is widely considered safe, it can be dangerous in excessively high doses when taken as a supplement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a supplement, very high doses of this mineral can reduce how effective insulin is at controlling blood sugar and cause stomach irritation, itching, and flushing,\u201d Mount Sinai experts write. \u201cThere have also been rare reports of fast, irregular heart rhythms and liver problems from too much chromium. However, new research suggests that there\u2019s one science-backed benefit to taking ACV on a regular basis. <\/p>\n<p>A <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/nutrition.bmj.com\/content\/early\/2024\/01\/18\/bmjnph-2023-000823\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"MJ Nutrition, Prevention, and Health: Apple cider vinegar for weight management in Lebanese adolescents and young adults with overweight and obesity\">2024 study<\/a> published in BMJ Nutrition, Prevention, and Health, found that taking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar before eating may help you lose weight.<\/p>\n<p>The study, which recruited 120 obese and overweight participants, found that those who took ACV before meals lost up to 18 pounds during the 12-week study period.
