Coming off back to back Hollywood blockbusters, Jonathan Bailey<\/a> is ready to press pause on acting.<\/p>\n

In a British GQ interview<\/a> published Sept. 3, the “Bridgerton<\/a>” star said he plans to take a break from acting next year following the release of “Wicked: For Good<\/a>.” Instead of taking on more major roles like paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis or Prince Fiyero, Bailey plans to focus on his LBGTQ+ charity group known as the Shameless Fund.<\/p>\n

“I’ve been working solidly for about three years now, which has been amazing and mind-blowing. But with everything happening in the world right now, I’m going to stop acting for a bit next year and just focus on the Shameless Fund,” he says. \u201cOver the next few months, I’ll be focusing on staffing and making sure we get all the right people in all the right places.”<\/p>\n

Fans don’t have to worry as his face returns to the big screen alongside Ariana Grande<\/a> and Cynthia Erivo<\/a> when the upcoming “Wicked<\/a>” sequel releases in theaters this November.<\/p>\n

Bailey’s reveal comes after the release of July’s “Jurassic World Rebirth<\/a>,” which grossed more than $855 million globally, and last November’s “Wicked<\/a>,” which grossed more than $755 million worldwide and landed 10 Oscar nominations.”<\/p>\n

He’s also kept busy with TV roles including congressional staffer Tim Laughlin in 2023’s “Fellow Travelers<\/a>” that landed Bailey an Emmy nomination last year in the supporting actor in a limited series category.<\/p>\n

However in the looming 2026, Bailey will dedicate his focus to supporting LGBTQ+ people in the U.K. through the charity he founded last year.<\/p>\n

What is the Shameless Fund?<\/p>\n

Founded by Jonathan Bailey, the Shameless Fund is dedicated to uplifting and protecting queer people by utilizing the power of celebrity.<\/p>\n

“A few years ago I thought, What can you do as an actor? There are so many amazing people who are on the frontline. They\u2019re the real heroes that are working for organizations, and charities, and initiatives,” Bailey told Vogue<\/a> last year. \u201cHow can I raise money without asking people to actually donate and sponsor, (but rather) to invite people to experience art and beautiful, inspiring, naughty, and exciting collaborations?”<\/p>\n

During his interview with GQ, Bailey said the charity aims to be fun and creative while also making a real difference and finding solutions to better support the LGBTQ+ community.<\/p>\n
