Aryna Sabalenka has clinched her fourth Grand Slam title after defeating Amanda Anisimova in the US Open final.<\/p>\n

Sabalenka<\/a> overcame Anisimova 6-3, 7-6(7-3) at Arthur Ashe Stadium, having been the top seed and the defending champion.<\/p>\n

She now has 100 Grand Slam match wins to her name, with the WTA<\/a> number one now a two-time US Open<\/a> and two-time Australian Open champion.<\/p>\n

Sabalenka has also lost a US Open final in her career, while she finished as runner-up at the Australian Open and French Open this year.<\/p>\n

Anisimova praised Sabalenka<\/a> after the victory for the Belarusian, who is the first woman since Serena Williams in 2014 to successfully defend a US Open title.<\/p>\n

And playing a key role in her latest triumph was her close-knit team of coach Anton Dubrov, hitting partner Andrei Vasilevski and fitness coach Jason Stacy.<\/p>\n

They were, however, joined by Max Mirnyi in New York, who Sabalenka hired going into the hard-court tournament.<\/p>\n

And the 10-time Grand Slam doubles champion has shared insight into their workings, telling BBC Sport<\/a>: \u201cShe definitely wasn\u2019t broken by any means \u2013 she is the top player in the world, won the best tournaments and beaten the best players time and time again.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just been a matter of evolving and improving her game and trying to add different facets to it.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe being a bit more versatile on serve and being more dominant, trying to enhance her powerful groundstrokes by finishing some balls at the net.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s very quick on catching onto things I have mentioned and we have been working on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sabalenka deserves huge praise for her latest victory in New York, where she didn\u2019t let emotions get the better of her on the court.<\/p>\n

Frustration was undoubtedly a factor in her previous Grand Slam finals this season, when she lost to Madison Keys in Melbourne and Coco Gauff in Paris.<\/p>\n

But a third successive defeat to an American player was avoided this time around, where Sabalenka was much more composed and in control.<\/p>\n

She enjoyed a fantastic run in Queens, which included wins over the likes of former US Open finalists Jessica Pegula and Leylah Fernandez.<\/p>\n

Anisimova, however, arguably had a tougher run to the final, which involved overcoming both Iga Swiatek and Naomi Osaka.<\/p>\n
