\n A Harrogate author has published a new children’s book inspired by a cat with a disability, with all profits going to charity.\n <\/p>\n

‘Atticus Finch Wobblycat’ has been written by Charlie Lovatt and\u00a0tells the story of a real cat who has the feline version of cerebral palsy.<\/p>\n

Despite his disability, Atticus embarks on adventures and meets new friends.<\/p>\n

The book aims to carry a positive message about disability while remaining fun and accessible to children.<\/p>\n

The story is fully illustrated by a North Yorkshire-based artist from Scarborough, and its inspiration comes from West Yorkshire.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the book, Charlie said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI was inspired to write the book after meeting Atticus and being amazed by such a unique cat.<\/p>\n

“When you know a cat as special as Atticus Finch you have to share his stardom.<\/p>\n

“The opportunity to use his story to share positive disability messages is incredible.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve always been able to produce words when the story is right there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charlie has chosen to support 2Wish with proceeds from the book.<\/p>\n

The charity\u00a0provides immediate and ongoing support to people affected by sudden death in young people.<\/p>\n

Support includes memory boxes, bereavement rooms within hospitals, counselling, play therapy and complementary therapy.<\/p>\n

Charlie said:<\/p>\n

\u201c2Wish is a charity I’ve supported for years via an association with Mos Eisley Misfits.<\/p>\n

“They\u2019re a charity helping those who have lost a young person, a trauma too many people have faced.<\/p>\n

“The profits also support Atticus’ family which offers shelter to a range of disabled cats who otherwise are often left behind in rescues.\u201d<\/p>\n
