\n\t\u201cGuys, this is like Avatar,\u201d Mabel says.<\/p>\n

\n\tScientist: \u201cThis is nothing like Avatar!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHere is the first trailer for Hoppers<\/a>, the latest Pixar<\/a> toon from Disney<\/a>, which hits theaters next year. Check it out above.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the pic from We Bare Bears helmer Daniel Chong<\/a>, science has found a way to \u201chop\u201d human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals. Using the new technology, Mabel (Piper Curda<\/a>) will uncover mysteries within the animal world that are beyond anything she could have imagined.<\/p>\n

\n\tMabel \u201chops\u201d into the life of a beaver, and along the way she learns about dragonfly dudes, vibing birds, \u201cpond rules\u201d \u2014 eat, be eaten, make it \u201cweird\u201d and get off the menu \u2014 and the potential pitfalls of upsetting the natural order.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhat if we could understand and communicate with the animal world?\u201d\u00a0Chong asks in the press notes. \u201cOur main character, Mabel, gets to discover the animal kingdom\u00a0as an animal, which can be weird and often hilarious. Mabel undercover in the animal world leads to a wild, rollercoaster ride of a movie, with all the heart you expect from a classic Pixar film.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe voice cast also includes the likes of Bobby Moynihan<\/a> and Jon Hamm<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s been feast or famine for Pixar during the past two years. In 2024, Inside Out 2 became the highest-grossing animated film ever<\/a>, and No. 11 among all movies, with just short of $1.7 billion worldwide. But this summer\u2019s $150 million Elio drew the lowest opening in the studio\u2019s history<\/a>. Hoppers is out to make amends for that when it opens March 6.<\/p>\n
