{"id":145295,"date":"2025-09-10T00:12:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-10T00:12:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/145295\/"},"modified":"2025-09-10T00:12:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T00:12:09","slug":"jim-courier-says-what-the-rest-of-the-atp-tour-will-be-thinking-after-carlos-alcaraz-and-jannik-sinners-us-open-final","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/145295\/","title":{"rendered":"Jim Courier says what the rest of the ATP Tour will be thinking after Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner\u2019s US Open final"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner continued their streak of Grand Slam dominance at the 2025 US Open.<\/p>\n<p>The pair had shared the previous three majors of the year, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/rod-laver-reacts-as-jannik-sinner-beats-alexander-zverev-in-the-australian-open-final\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sinner won in Australia<\/a>, Alcaraz won in Paris, before Sinner won Wimbledon.<\/p>\n<p>Maintaining their impressive records, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/what-will-happen-for-the-first-time-since-1973-when-carlos-alcaraz-meets-jannik-sinner-in-the-us-open-final\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sinner and Alcaraz qualified for the US Open final<\/a>, doing so in convincing fashion.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/GettyImages-2233910118-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Carlos Alcaraz celebrates his win over Novak Djokovic at the 2025 US Open\" class=\"wp-image-127435\" \/>Photo by Clive Brunskill\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>In four sets, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/marion-bartoli-makes-bold-carlos-alcaraz-prediction-after-his-us-open-win-mark-my-words\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alcaraz defeated Sinner<\/a>, clinching the title, as the world number one and two will finish the year having won two Grand Slams each.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the US Open final, former American tennis star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jim-courier\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jim Courier<\/a> has suggested what the rest of the ATP Tour may be thinking.<\/p>\n<p>Jim Courier says the rest of the ATP Tour will be thinking about how much they need to improve<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.claytenis.com\/interviews\/alcaraz-cannot-feel-comfortable-with-sinner-couriers-advice-for-the-new-world-no-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Clay<\/a>\u2018, Courier gave his verdict on the gap between Alcaraz\/Sinner and the rest of the ATP Tour.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re incredibly lucky as tennis fans to have these two guys that have totally taken over from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/novak-djokovic\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Novak [Djokovic]<\/a>, the last of the Big Three still standing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe still made four semifinals this year, but these guys, as Novak said, rightfully impressed.<\/p>\n<p>Grand SlamLost inOpponentScoreAustralian OpenSFAlexander Zverev6-7 (RET)French Open SFJannik Sinner4-6, 5-7, 6-7WimbledonSFJannik Sinner3-6, 3-6, 4-6US OpenSFCarlos Alcaraz4-6, 6-7, 2-6Novak Djokovic\u2019s 2025 Grand Slam results<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019ve separated themselves from the rest of the field, including him right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Courier then suggested what other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/atp\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ATP Tour<\/a> players might be thinking as Alcaraz and Sinner continue to dominate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll see how long they can remain the two dominant players, and whether someone can get in the middle the way Novak did with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/roger-federer\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Roger [Federer]<\/a> and Rafa [Nadal]. But for now, it\u2019s their tour,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rest will be thinking about how much more they need to improve, and that\u2019s exactly what inspired Novak to reach his great heights.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/GettyImages-2234209791-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner pose with their trophies after the 2025 US Open final\" class=\"wp-image-128452\" \/>Photo by Clive Brunskill\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether it\u2019s one of the guys already on tour, or maybe a junior, they\u2019ll be watching and working hard to catch them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut these two are also going to work hard to stay ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Between 2004 and 2010, Nadal and Federer won 24 of the available 28 Grand Slam titles.<\/p>\n<p>Watching the pair perform at the highest level, Djokovic fought hard to insert himself into the conversation and did just that.<\/p>\n<p>Over the next decade, Djokovic won more titles than Federer and Nadal.<\/p>\n<p>Grand Slam titles won in the 2010s1.
