ATLANTA (AP) \u2014 The Chicago Cubs placed All-Star right fielder Kyle Tucker on the 10-day injured list because of a strained left calf, a move retroactive to Saturday.<\/p>\n
Tucker has not played since Sept. 2. He is eligible to be activated on Sept. 16.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was just a little worse today than it was yesterday,\u201d Cubs manager Craig Counsell said before Tuesday night\u2019s game against Atlanta. \u201cYesterday was a really good day, just didn\u2019t have any progress today. He wasn\u2019t comfortable playing, so we said, \u2018We have to give this a little more time.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Tucker is hitting .270 with a team-best .854 OPS. He has 22 home runs in his first year with the Cubs after seven seasons with Houston.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think anything has gotten worse,\u201d Counsell said. \u201cWe just have to get to a point where he\u2019s not symptomatic and then not feeling it doing baseball activities.\u201d<\/p>\n
