The Department of Public Health and Social Services reinstated Saomai Restaurant’s sanitary permit, which was suspended over a pest infestation, according to the agency’s latest sanitation report.<\/p>\n
After a follow up inspection, Saomai Restaurant in Yigo received the highest sanitation rating of “A” and received zero demerit.<\/p>\n
According to Public Health, inspectors from the Division of Environmental Health went to the restaurant on July 31 after receiving a complaint.<\/p>\n
During that inspection, Saomai Restaurant got 30 demerits and its sanitary permit was suspended due to a pest infestation, according to Public Health documents.<\/p>\n
Other demerits included food not properly separated and protected, food contact surfaces not cleaned and sanitized, plumbing not properly installed and garbage receptacles not supplied with lids.<\/p>\n
A follow-up inspection was done on Aug. 8 with no violations observed.<\/p>\n

According to Public Health documents, other restaurants were inspected following complaints.<\/p>\n
Denny’s in Tamuning was inspected on July 17 after a complaint. It got two demerits and an “A” grade.<\/p>\n
Crab Daddy in Tumon was inspected on Aug. 1 after a complaint. It also got two demerits and an “A” grade.<\/p>\n
Subway in Hag\u00e5t\u00f1a was inspected on Aug. 12 after a complaint. It got seven demerits and an “A” grade.<\/p>\n
Hongkong Wok in Tamuning was inspected on Aug. 13 after a complaint.
