For the first time, Glen Powell<\/a> has addressed his ex-girlfriend\u2019s irate claims <\/a>about their public breakup, which coincided with romance rumors involving his Anyone But You co-star Sydney Sweeney<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Powell, 36, and model Gigi Paris, 32, dated for three years before splitting in early 2023, amid mounting speculation that he and Sweeney, 27, had become entangled in an on-set relationship.<\/p>\n

The two actors later admitted to having intentionally leaned into the rumors and their \u201cchemistry\u201d <\/a>to help make their romcom a success.<\/p>\n

Now Powell is breaking his silence on Paris\u2019s recent remarks that she felt like she was \u201cmade a fool.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI will always have nothing but love for her and respect for her,\u201d he said in a new interview with GQ<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody\u2019s always going to have their own narrative on things and all that. And she\u2019s welcome to it,\u201d the Hit Man star added diplomatically. \u201cRelationships are really hard. And when two people break up, they each go to their own brunch and they will each tell their own narrative.\u201d<\/p>\n

During Paris\u2019s appearance on Emma Klipstein\u2019s Too Much podcast in June, she aired her grievances with the way she felt their breakup was handled.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was just, this is what I have to do for my job. I had two options. I could either pretend like I was going along with everything and have everyone wonder, like, \u2018Are they hooking up? Are they not hooking up? Is she okay with this? What the f***?\u2019 Or stand up for myself and say, \u2018No, I\u2019m actually not okay with this, and I\u2019m walking away.\u2019 So that’s what I decided to do … I was shattered,\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just wanted respect, especially if it\u2019s gonna be public,\u201d she added. \u201cLike, don\u2019t make an ass out of me. Like, just don\u2019t make a fool out of someone you\u2019ve been with for over three years talking about forever with. Just have some decency, you know? And at the end of the day, it was like, well, work comes first. And if that\u2019s the case, power to you, that\u2019s your priority. I gotta walk away. What sucked was how it was handled. I felt like I was just fed to the dogs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Weeks before Paris\u2019s podcast interview dropped, Sweeney confirmed she was single after breaking off her engagement<\/a> to movie producer Jonathan Davino.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in April, the Euphoria star was spotted at Powell\u2019s sisters\u2019 wedding<\/a>. Her attendance only ignited further speculation. However, Powell\u2019s mother insisted at the time that the two are \u201cdefinitely not together\u201d and Sweeney was only there as a friend.<\/p>\n

Powell told GQ that he relies on his Top Gun co-star Tom Cruise\u2019s advice to help him get through the more difficult periods of stardom.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe basically said, \u2018Hey, it\u2019s going to get really, really loud. It\u2019s your job to just turn the volume down. Just remember you have your hand on that switch.
