{"id":146389,"date":"2025-09-10T11:26:18","date_gmt":"2025-09-10T11:26:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/146389\/"},"modified":"2025-09-10T11:26:18","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T11:26:18","slug":"nebraskas-kristen-brown-joins-d-i-womens-basketball-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/146389\/","title":{"rendered":"Nebraska&#8217;s Kristen Brown joins D-I Women&#8217;s Basketball Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a data-clubhouse-guid=\"346b1cf4-2f92-42ee-d03d-b7e1239e9744\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/womens-college-basketball\/team\/_\/id\/158\/nebraska-cornhuskers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nebraska<\/a> deputy athletic director Kristen Brown has been appointed to the 12-member NCAA Division I Women&#8217;s Basketball Committee, the NCAA announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Brown fills the committee position vacated by new <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"4011b4d0-237b-dc5b-16c1-ffacd81d15f6\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/womens-college-basketball\/team\/_\/id\/2567\/smu-mustangs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SMU<\/a> executive deputy athletic director Colleen Sorem.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is a tremendous honor and privilege to be appointed to the NCAA Division I Women&#8217;s Basketball Committee, especially during such a dynamic time for the sport,&#8221; Brown said. &#8220;I am excited to work alongside my colleagues on the committee and NCAA staff to help continue to grow the sport in a thoughtful and strategic way as well as to help enhance the championship experience for student-athletes and fans.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Brown previously held administrative positions at <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"3b632a0a-ea9b-a0b5-6f2f-77fe3f3021cd\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/womens-college-basketball\/team\/_\/id\/245\/texas-a&amp;m-aggies\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Texas A&amp;M<\/a> and <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"a988d662-ef82-d907-32bd-9ea740fc0cca\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/womens-college-basketball\/team\/_\/id\/120\/maryland-terrapins\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Maryland<\/a>.
