[Courtesy]&#13;<\/p>\n<p class=\"card-text\">African telecommunications firm Paratus Group has completed a major expansion into East Africa, positioning itself as a competitive alternative to regional giants like Safaricom by leveraging high-speed fibre infrastructure and satellite internet services.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"card-text\">The Pan-African network services provider, which already operates in 15 countries across the continent, announced on Wednesday that it is now fully operational in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania as a licensed internet service provider (ISP).&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"card-text\">In Kenya and Rwanda, the company is also an authorised reseller of SpaceX\u2019s Starlink satellite internet service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"card-text\">The move signals a strategic bid to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standardmedia.co.ke\/business\/business\/article\/2001516653\/state-targets-100000km-fibre-network-connectivity\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">capture a share of East Africa\u2019s<\/a> rapidly growing digital economy, which Euromonitor forecasts will account for 29 per cent of Africa\u2019s total GDP by 2040, up from 18 per cent today.<\/p>\n<p>                                <a href=\"https:\/\/whatsapp.com\/channel\/0029Va0PRAYGk1Fo4ODHAg0b\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Follow The Standard<br \/>\n                                    channel<br \/>\n                                    on WhatsApp<\/a><br \/>\n                                <\/p>\n<p class=\"card-text\">\u201cWe now hold operational licenses in key East African markets,\u201d said Martin Cox, Chief Commercial Officer at Paratus Group. \u201cOur network enables enterprise and wholesale customers to access reliable, cross-border connectivity within the region and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"card-text\">Central to Paratus\u2019s expansion is its East-West fibre route\u2014a terrestrial network stretching from Maputo, Mozambique, to Swakopmund, Namibia\u2014where it connects to the Equiano subsea cable, providing low-latency links between Africa and Europe.\n        <\/p>\n<p class=\"card-text\">The company aims to serve key sectors including retail, logistics, education, and healthcare, with a focus on corporate and wholesale clients.
