{"id":148889,"date":"2025-09-11T12:23:06","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T12:23:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/148889\/"},"modified":"2025-09-11T12:23:06","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T12:23:06","slug":"four-arrests-made-in-connection-with-the-shooting-of-fsu-linebacker-ethan-pritchard-authorities-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/148889\/","title":{"rendered":"Four arrests made in connection with the shooting of FSU linebacker Ethan Pritchard, authorities say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Four people have been arrested in connection to the shooting of Florida State linebacker <a href=\"https:\/\/cnn.com\/2025\/09\/04\/sport\/football-ncaa-ethan-pritchard-fsu-shot-head-intl?cid=external-feeds_iluminar_yahoo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Ethan Pritchard;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Ethan Pritchard<\/a>, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Commissioner Mark Glass said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Glass said Pritchard was \u201cnot doing anything wrong\u201d when he was ambushed outside an apartment last month. He added that Pritchard was dropping off family members, an aunt and a child, when he was shot in the back of the head.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Pritchard, a six-foot-two, 224-pound freshman from Sanford, remains in critical but stable condition at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. He was shot August 31 while inside a vehicle outside apartments in Havana, according to the Gadsden County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Gadsden County Sheriff Morris Young said authorities believe Pritchard\u2019s shooting was a case of mistaken identity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Jayden Bodison, Caron Miller, Germany Atkins and an unnamed minor have been arrested in connection with the shooting, the FDLE said. Bodison, Miller and the juvenile were charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle. Atkins was charged with one count of probation violation. It was not immediately clear if any of the accused had attorneys.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Pritchard did not play in Florida State\u2019s season opener, a 31-17 victory Saturday over No. 8 Alabama in Tallahassee on August 30.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cI recruited him for years, got a chance to watch him grow,\u201d FSU coach Mike Norvell said Saturday. \u201cThe way that he plays the game, it\u2019s a passion, energy. He loves it, absolutely loves it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cTo know that right now that\u2019s taken away from him in a senseless act \u2026 you don\u2019t always know why you have to go through things in life. You don\u2019t understand the reasoning. But I do believe that God has his hand over Ethan and this football team and just all the relationships.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Ethan\u2019s father, Earl, attended Florida State\u2019s win over East Texas A&amp;M on Saturday.
