10 Corso Como<\/a> is ringing in Milan Fashion Week with Atlas, the first solo exhibition dedicated to the work of British fashion photographer and portraitist Glen Luchford<\/a>. Conceived and designed by the artist himself, the show takes a deep dive into Luchford\u2019s creative vision \u2013 something he calls a \u201cvisual orgy\u201d \u2013 where his most iconic shots meet personal captures, outtakes and a never-before-seen installation.<\/p>\n Curated by Alessio de\u2019 Navasques, Atlas takes us back to the \u201990s \u2014 the decade launched his career. From early shots for The Face and his celebrated Miuccia Prada SS 1997 campaign, to his more recent Gucci extravagance<\/a>, threaded through Luchford\u2019s editorial, commercial and personal work alike is a dream of dismantling conventions of stereotypical beauty, poking, prodding and piecing them back together with a palpable\u00a0 sense of the real and everyday.\n<\/p>\n Through large-format prints, layered works, collages and fashion films, Atlas collapses several decades of work into a single continuum, keeping on its path of constant motion. Taking cues from futurism, punk, \u201990s British grit and the ambient opulence of Martin Scorsese\u2019s Taxi Driver, Luchford brings forth an oeuvre fast, alive and impossible to pin down.\n<\/p>\n
