“I think it’s great, I think the businesses in the village and the surrounding areas will benefit,” said John Kuntzmann, of North Massapequa. <\/p>\n
A quarter of a million people will be coming to Farmingdale for the Ryder Cup. The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce says this will pump millions of dollars into the local economy. <\/p>\n
According to the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce, 250,000 attendees are expected to come to the area, bringing in $150 million for all of Long Island. The food and beverage industry in Farmingdale is projected to jump up 20%.<\/p>\n
“Obviously, when you bring 250,000 people to the village of Farmingdale and the area around Bethpage State Park that’s going to have some growing pains, but we’re really excited and I think it’s going to be a net positive for everybody,” said Joseph Garcia, president of the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce. <\/p>\n
A lot of restaurants in the area will be having Ryder Cup watch parties.<\/p>\n
The general manager of the Library Cafe in Farmingdale expects a 25% increase in customers.<\/p>\n
