However, the incident hit him in his sleep. When he woke up, it was as if his body had stayed asleep. At the time, the band said Neil had to cancel shows to undergo a\u00a0\u201crequired medical procedure.\u201d However, the public had no idea how significant the scare was. The first part of the residency was canceled.<\/p>\n \u201cI had to learn to walk again, and that was tough,\u201d Neil continued. \u201cThe doctors said they didn\u2019t think I\u2019d be able to go back on stage again. I go, \u2018No, no, I\u2019m gonna do it. Watch and see.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Vince Neil’s Recovery Period<\/p>\n The recovery period was particularly strenuous for Neil.<\/p>\n \u201cI went from people carrying me to the bathroom, because I couldn\u2019t walk myself, finally to a wheelchair,\u201d Neil shared. \u201cI graduated to a walker, and then I had a cane. Now I don\u2019t need anything. But it\u2019s like a full-time job getting back to where you feel good again.\u201d<\/p>\n He went on to say that his singing voice wasn’t affected, luckily. However, it did take him some time to adjust.<\/p>\n \u201cIt takes a while to get your brain to start moving your legs, for them to do what your brain wants to do. You try to walk but it doesn\u2019t come out right,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n A strong fitness regimen has been key.
