ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. \u2014 Golfers at Gator Trace Golf Course in Fort Pierce may see something a bit shocking on the green at Hole 3.<\/p>\n

Lightning strikes golf course leaving ‘electrifying’ mark<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had a lightning strike on Friday afternoon,\u201d Lantie Hughes, the general manager, said.<\/p>\n
A lightning strike on the flag, that left a shocking scar on the green.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt completely exploded. Never hit flag stick, never hit a green like this,\u201d said Hughes. <\/p>\n
Thankfully, Hughes said they called all the golfers in when the storm arrived.<\/p>\n
But Bill Parrish lives along the hole.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re only like what 200 yards away,\u201d said Parrish.<\/p>\n
Parrish told WPTV reporter Tyler Hatfield he heard the strike.<\/p>\n
\u201c[Like} a bomb,\u201d said Parrish. \u201cI didn\u2019t think it was that close.\u201d<\/p>\n
On Wednesdy, golfer John Engel read the green on Hole 3 in a different way.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just amazing to look at,\u201d he said. \u201cYou can see where the lighting went through, how it stretches out like fingers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Engel was at the course when it hit, and is thankful he went inside during the storm.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a big reminder about what can happen,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
A rigid reminder, Hughes said, to not risk being outside during a thunderstorm.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe got too many good days in Florida to be out playing in the rain and the lightning,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
But instead admire, a bolt in one.<\/p>\n
