Southeast Houston \u2013 According to the Houston fire department, crews responded to a call for service at Christ Church on Fuqua S.t near Freehill Street around 7 a.m. On Saturday morning. <\/p>\n

When firefighters arrived, heavy smoke could be seen coming for the church and the fire was upgraded to a two-alarm fire, according to HFD. <\/p>\n

Two firefighters were injured. According to the Houston Fire Department one firefighter suffered a broken ankle and the other has a fractured femur. Both firefighters have been released for the hospital.<\/p>\n

No other injuries were reported, and no one was inside of the church at the time of the fire, according to officials. <\/p>\n

The cause of the fire is under investigation. <\/p>\n
