Malcolm-Jamal Warner<\/a>\u2019s widow is breaking her silence on the \u201cCosby Show<\/a>\u201d actor\u2019s death, nearly two months after he accidentally drowned<\/a> during a vacation in Costa Rica. Malcolm-Jamal Warner was 54 years old and is survived by his daughter as well as his wife, Tenisha Warner.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for holding us in so much love during this tender time,\u201d she wrote on Friday on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cTomorrow marks our anniversary \u2014 and my heart is wide open. For the first time, I\u2019m sharing a glimpse of the love that began it all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI can still hear my husband\u2019s laugh, still feel the way he made room for every part of me \u2014 every tear, every dream,\u201d Tenisha Warner said. \u201cToday, in his honor, my daughter and I are launching River & Ember and officially opening The Warner Family Foundation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The foundation\u2019s website explains<\/a> that a \u201cCreative Legacy Fund\u201d named after the actor will provide scholarships for people ages 14 to 22 and start \u201cnurturing the next generation of artists.\u201d Malcolm-Jamal Warner was a poet and musician<\/a> in addition to being an actor.<\/p>\n

\u201cTogether we carry the legacy my husband and I began\u2014 one that nurtures children\u2019s inner light and gives young artists the freedom to create outside the lines,\u201d Tenisda Warner wrote Friday. \u201cThis is love, Still moving. Still making. Still carrying us forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

The late actor, who played Theodore Huxtable on \u201cThe Cosby Show\u201d and landed a 1986 Emmy nod<\/a>, was reportedly<\/a> swimming at Playa Grande in Cahuita, a Costa Rican village, when a current swept him away. He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Tenisha Warner shared in an official statement accompanying her post that River & Ember, described online as a \u201cseasonal digital\u201d toolkit<\/a> for parents and young children, sprang from her knowledge \u201cas a doctor of psychology\u201d and her personal journey with grief.<\/p>\n

\u201cRiver & Ember began with two simple forces: the steady flow that carries us forward, and the quiet warmth that keeps us alive inside,\u201d read the statement<\/a>. \u201cMy husband embodied both. His presence was a river – steady, sure, and always moving toward what matters.\u201d<\/p>\n
