\n\tShai Gilgeous-Alexander, Simone Biles<\/a>, the Philadelphia Eagles and Ilona Maher<\/a> were among the top winners at the 2025 ESPY Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tComedian Shane Gillis<\/a> hosted the awards ceremony, presented by ESPN<\/a>, on Wednesday night live from The Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. A plethora of awards were handed out to an array of athletes in varying categories, including the coveted titles<\/a> of best athlete in men\u2019s and women\u2019s sports<\/a>, which went to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Simone Biles, respectively.<\/p>\n

\n\tGilgeous-Alexander was nominated alongside the likes of Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills\u202c), Saquon Barkley (Philadelphia Eagles\u202c) and \u202c\u202dShohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Dodgers\u202c) while Biles was up against Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone (track & field\u202c), Gabby Thomas (track & field) and A\u2019ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces\u202c).\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tOther top winners of the night included Team USA rugby player Maher, who won the honor of best breakthrough athlete. Aside from her best athlete win, Biles also picked up the title of best championship performance for her 2024 Olympics women\u2019s all-around set that saw her win the gold medal. <\/p>\n

\n\tBiles\u2019 team USA teammate, Suni Lee, was honored with the best comeback athlete award, while NFL star Saquon Barkley earned the best play win for his backwards hurdle during the Philadelphia Eagles\u2019 Nov. 3 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe title of best team went to the Philadelphia Eagles (who notably won the Super Bowl<\/a> earlier this year), while additional \u201cbest player\u201d awards were given out to athletes in the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA and WNBA, additionally in the driving, UFC, boxing, soccer, golf and tennis categories. <\/p>\n
