Football director Jason Wilcox lauded Lammens after the deal was completed<\/a>, but head coach Ruben Amorim<\/a> chose not to start him against Manchester City<\/a>.<\/p>\n The decision has left Paul Scholes<\/a> worried, as he believes it is a judgment on Lammens, adding to reservations he already had.<\/p>\n And after watching Gianluigi Donnarumma<\/a> in the City goal, Scholes is full of regret that United did not sign the Italian instead.<\/p>\n Scholes\u2019 concerns about Manchester United situation<\/p>\n Manchester United played Altay Bayindir<\/a> in goal against City, who has been promoted to first choice, but has been the back-up to Andre Onana for two years.<\/p>\n Onana was demoted and subsequently loaned out to Trabzonspor<\/a> before the Turkish transfer deadline.<\/p>\n Speaking to The Good, The Bad & The Football, Scholes expressed his concerns about Lammens, remarking that it was \u2018incredible\u2019 Amorim did not start him.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cWhat\u2019s the price? 20 million euros. It tells me he\u2019s not a top goalkeeper. And if he is a top goalkeeper, he\u2019s playing, he\u2019s straight into the big game. <\/p>\n \u201cBecause we know United have got big, big problems in goal.\u201d<\/p>\n Scholes added his view that recruitment continues to be a problem at United, arguing that Andre Onana<\/a> should have been moved on earlier in the transfer window.<\/p>\n \u201cDid it really take him to that Grimsby game to realize that Onana\u2019s not good enough?<\/p>\n Onana had a disastrous game for Manchester United against Grimsby<\/a>, making mistakes for two goals in the club\u2019s embarrassing Carabao Cup exit<\/a>.<\/p>\n Scholes believes Manchester United\u2019s biggest error was not signing Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma when he became available from Paris Saint-Germain.<\/p>\n He said United officials should have \u2018drove to Paris\u2019 to conclude a deal as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Donnarumma one is the biggest mistake that I can see.
