After a legendarily <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/out-crystal-meth-tour-1994-1235088975\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">disastrous<\/a>, crystal-meth-fueled performance at Los Angeles\u2019 Whisky a Go Go, they canceled nine shows. Thirty-one years later, things are a little different: The reunited band just blazed through five sold-out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-live-reviews\/oasis-live-25-reunion-tour-first-us-concert-1235415086\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">stadium concerts<\/a> in the States that seemed to have more cultural impact than many other acts\u2019 year-long runs, with grown men weeping, strangers embracing, and U.K. flags waving in New Jersey\u2019s swamplands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn the new episode of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/rolling-stone-music-now\/\" id=\"auto-tag_rolling-stone-music-now\" data-tag=\"rolling-stone-music-now\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rolling Stone Music Now<\/a>, Andy Greene joins host Brian Hiatt for a discussion of Oasis\u2019 triumphant U.S. stint, and all that preceded it. And I thought, \u2018I better start writing a few songs for me to sing in case this kind of thing carries on happening.\u2019 I kind of got the sense that both those songs were gonna be big, and I remember saying, \u2018I\u2019m singing one or the other.\u2019 He didn\u2019t like \u2018Wonderwall\u2019 when he heard it. In fact, he fucking hated it, as did pretty much everyone else until somebody from a record label came down and went, \u2018Whoa, that\u2019s the song that\u2019s gonna make us all fucking rich and famous.\u2019 And then he changed his mind and was like, \u2018Well, you know, I\u2019ll sing that one then.\u2019 And I sang \u2018Don\u2019t Look Back in Anger\u2019\u2026. I\u2019m glad I chose that one. I think \u2018Don\u2019t Look Back in Anger\u2019 is a better song.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\tEditor\u2019s picks<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tLiam explains why he ignores memes and jokes about \u201cWonderwall.\u201d \u200a\u201dIt\u2019s not a joke to me, man,\u201d he says. \u201cBut if people have a laugh at it, feel free. It\u2019s a free world, man. Yeah. But when I sing it, it ain\u2019t no joke, man. I\u2019m doing it for real\u2026. It\u2019s been good to me and I\u2019ve been good to it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tNoel says people shouldn\u2019t expect him to write the same kind of songs he did in the Nineties. \u201c\u200aI\u2019m not fucking 27 anymore,\u201d he says. \u201cI was 27 once and I fucking changed people\u2019s lives. You can\u2019t carry on doing it. Did it once, twice, even three times even\u2026. Bob Dylan\u2019s the fucking same. Bob Dylan, that guy changed the course of fucking history with those first three albums. You don\u2019t do that anymore. We\u2019d been grafting our asses off, so it\u2019s time to have a bit of a party.
