\u201cWe don\u2019t need more information.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cReally?\u201d asked Tarlov.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes,\u201d Gutfeld said. \u201cWe don\u2019t need it. What is interesting here is: why is only this happening on the left and not the right?\u201d<\/p>\n
Tarlov replied by referencing the Democratic state representative in Minnesota who, along with her husband and their dog, was shot dead in June. The suspect, Vance Boelter, had earlier also allegedly shot Democratic state senator John Hoffman and his wife. Authorities found in Boelter\u2019s car a list of about 70 Democrats in Minnesota and elsewhere, abortion rights advocates, and abortion providers. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhat about Melissa Hortman?\u201d Tarlov asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou want to talk about Melissa Hortman? Did you know her name before it happened? None of us did. None of us were spending every single day talking about Mrs. Hortman. I never heard of her until after she died.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSo she doesn\u2019t matter?\u201d Tarlov asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cDon\u2019t play that bull—t with me,\u201d Gutfeld replied. \u201cWhat I\u2019m saying is: There was no demonization amplification about that woman before she died. It was a specific crime against her by somebody who knew her. You can bring up Josh Shapiro, but you then you will not bring up, for example, that was a pro Palestine person. So don\u2019t use your \u2018what about this.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact of the matter is the \u2018both sides argument\u2019 not only doesn\u2019t fly\u2014we don\u2019t care! We don\u2019t care about your both sides argument. That s— is dead,\u201c Gutfeld continued. <\/p>\n
\u201dFor one thing, there is no cognitive dissonance on our side. On your side, your beliefs do not match reality, so you\u2019re coming up with these rationalizations, like \u2018What about this?\u2019 or \u2018What about that?\u2019 We are not doing that because we saw it happen. We saw a young bright man assassinated and we know who did it. We are not coming up with rationalizations. We are calm, we are honest, and we are resolute. We are not defensive.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gutfeld then told Tarlov: \u201cIf you have to face the underlying fact of this, your life is going to fall apart because you\u2019re going to realize: you\u2019re not the good guys.\u201d <\/p>\n
The conservative commentator clarified that in some ways he was not talking to Tarlov specifically but to those on the left.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t believe you\u2019re part of that group, but why the hell do you have to mimic and echo that crap to us?\u201d Gutfeld said, before saying Kirk\u2019s alleged killer \u201cwas a patsy\u201d who was \u201cunder the hypnotic spell of a direct to consumer nihilism: the trans cult.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tarlov also clarified: \u201cI am not mad at Greg, but I want to be on the record that what happened to Charlie Kirk was appalling and unacceptable and it is just an incredibly tense, scary time for all of us. And that\u2019s what I was trying to say about broad brush language before Greg spoke for about 11 minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t mean to scream at you, Jessica,\u201d Gutfeld added. \u201cIt\u2019s just that this is a very personal thing… We all feel this and it\u2019s not a normal story. You haven\u2019t been here for a week you came in and might\u2019ve said things that I had already heard.\u201d<\/p>\n
