Miami, FL \u2013 Concacaf has announced the nominees and the opening of voting for the Confederation\u2019s awards program, focusing exclusively on two individual player categories: Concacaf Men\u2019s Player of the Year and Concacaf Women\u2019s Player of the Year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 2024\/25 season nominees have been selected based on performance statistics and the input of football experts. To be eligible to be shortlisted for these exciting Concacaf awards, all players must meet at least one of the following criteria:\u00a0<\/p>\n

Have played for a Concacaf Member Association’s senior Men’s or Women’s national team (in eligible Concacaf and FIFA competitions and matches).
\nPlayed for a club (in the relevant season) in a Concacaf and FIFA-sanctioned top division Men\u2019s or Women\u2019s professional league in the Concacaf region.<\/p>\n

The nominees for the\u00a0Concacaf Men\u2019s Player of the Year\u00a0are (listed in alphabetical order by last name):<\/p>\n

Edson \u00c1lvarez (MEX) | Fenerbah\u00e7e SK (TUR)<\/p>\n

\u00c1lvarez starred for Mexico throughout a prosperous run in which his nation won both the Concacaf Nations League and Concacaf Gold Cup, and for West Ham United FC in the English Premier League in 2024\/25. Notably, the midfielder scored the winning goal for his side in the Concacaf Gold Cup final against the United States and earned Best Player honors at the summer tournament. At the club level, \u00c1lvarez was a regular for West Ham, making 28 league appearances.<\/p>\n

Jonathan David (CAN) | Juventus FC (ITA)<\/p>\n

David excelled at both the club level with LOSC Lille in France, and international level with Canada in 2024\/25. The striker made history by becoming Canada\u2019s all-time top scorer with 36 goals in 67 appearances, including the winner in the country\u2019s 2-1 victory over the United States in the Concacaf Nations League Third Place Match. At the club level, he scored seven UEFA Champions League goals for Lille, the most by a Concacaf player in a single edition of the tournament in the 21st century. David also netted 16 Ligue 1 goals, the fourth-most of any player in the league.<\/p>\n

Ra\u00fal Jim\u00e9nez (MEX) | Fulham F.C. (ENG)<\/p>\n

Jim\u00e9nez became the third-highest scorer in Mexican National Team history, scoring eight goals throughout the season, including three goals in the Concacaf Gold Cup en route to the title, and all four goals for the side in its Concacaf Nations League Semifinal and Final wins over Canada and Panama, respectively. The striker won the Concacaf Nations League Best Player Award for his efforts. Jim\u00e9nez\u2019s season with Fulham in the English Premier League was also fruitful, as the striker led his team with 12 league goals and broke the record for most career goals scored in the Premier League by a Mexican player with 59.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00c1ngel Sep\u00falveda (MEX) | Cruz Azul (MEX)<\/p>\n

Sep\u00falveda was a member of the Concacaf Gold Cup-winning Mexico side and added a Concacaf Champions Cup title to his r\u00e9sum\u00e9. The striker won the tournament with Cruz Azul and claimed Golden Boot and Golden Ball honors, scoring nine goals in eight games, including one in each of the five rounds of the competition. Sep\u00falveda was the top scorer for Cruz Azul.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Malik Tillman (USA) | Bayer 04 Leverkusen (GER)<\/p>\n

Tillman\u2019s breakthrough season was highlighted by his performance for the U.S. MNT throughout the Concacaf Gold Cup, for which he was named to the Best XI and helped lead the team to a runner-up finish; he also put together a strong 2024\/25 campaign at the club level with PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands. The midfielder tallied three goals in the Concacaf Gold Cup, tied for second-most among all players. For PSV, the midfielder played an instrumental role for the side as it won the Eredivisie title. He was named to the Eredivisie Team of the Season for his efforts, leading PSV in goals and finishing with the seventh-most among all players in the Eredivisie with 12.<\/p>\n

Manfred Ugalde (CRC) | FC Spartak Moscow (RUS)<\/p>\n

Ugalde led Costa Rica with seven goals across 13 matches. The striker\u2019s goal-scoring form extended to his season with his club in the Russian Premier League, during which he led the league with 17 goals (the most a Concacaf player has ever scored in the competition).<\/p>\n

Charlyn Corral (MEX) | C.F. Pachuca (MEX)<\/p>\n

Corral\u2019s campaign was marked by both individual and team honors. The forward was the top scorer across the Liga MX Femenil Apertura 2024 and Clausura 2025 and was named the Liga MX Femenil Ballon d\u2019Or winner. With Pachuca, she also claimed the Liga MX Femenil Clausura 2025 title and qualified for the second edition of the Concacaf W Champions Cup, scoring a crucial brace in the final against Club America Femenil.<\/p>\n

Melchie Dumornay (HAI) | OL Lyonnes (FRA)<\/p>\n

The 2023\/24 Concacaf Women\u2019s Player of the Year once again excelled for Haiti and OL Lyonnes. The standout young midfielder was named the UEFA Women’s Champions League Young Player of the Season and to the Best XI for the competition after notching six goals. She also helped lead her club to a league title and was the second-highest scorer in the division with 15 goals.<\/p>\n

Emily Fox (USA) | Arsenal W.F.C. (ENG)<\/p>\n

Fox was a key contributor for both the United States and Arsenal W.F.C. in 2024\/25. The defender started all six matches for her national team at the 2024 Olympic Games, helping lead the team to a Gold Medal as part of a unit that allowed just two goals throughout the entire tournament \u00a0. With Arsenal, she was named to the Best XI for the 2024\/25 UEFA Women\u2019s Champions League, aiding the team in winning the competition. Her outstanding season led to her being nominated for the 2025 Ballon d\u2019Or.<\/p>\n

Lindsey Heaps (USA) | OL Lyonnes (FRA)<\/p>\n

Heaps\u2019 list of accomplishments includes a Gold Medal at the 2024 Olympic Games and a French Premi\u00e8re Ligue title with OL Lyonnes; she started and captained the U.S. WNT in all six of its matches at the Olympics. Heaps earned FIFA The Best 2024 honors and was nominated for the 2025 UNFP Team of the Year. Notably, the midfielder led the Premi\u00e8re Ligue with eight assists.<\/p>\n

Jacqueline Ovalle (MEX) | Orlando Pride (USA)<\/p>\n

Ovalle put together a standout 2024\/25 campaign for Tigres UANL in both the Liga MX Femenil and the inaugural Concacaf W Champions Cup, helping her side to a runner-up finish in the continental competition. The midfielder tallied an impressive 28 goals in the Liga MX Femenil.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Khadija Shaw (JAM) | Manchester City W.F.C. (ENG)<\/p>\n

Shaw made history with Jamaica and Manchester City W.F.C. by becoming the first Concacaf player to win the PFA Women\u2019s Player of the Year award in 2024. The forward was also named Player of the Year in the WSL and FWA awards and nominated for The Best FIFA Women\u2019s Player 2024. Shaw finished the season with her club as the WSL Golden Boot winner, scoring 12 goals.<\/p>\n

Following the nomination process, Concacaf will continue its football-first philosophy with a voting process that ensures players, coaches, media, and fans determine the winners.<\/p>\n

\n9 votes:\u00a0one vote each for nine representative members of the media from the Concacaf region.
\n9 votes:\u00a0fan voting through\u00a0www.concacaf.com\/awards<\/a>. The player with the most fan votes will receive 4 votes in the overall voting process, second place will receive 3 votes, and third place will receive 2 votes (regardless of the number of votes cast online).<\/p>\n

Concacaf Women\u2019s Player of the Year (100 votes total)\u00a0<\/p>\n

41 votes:\u00a0one vote for each Concacaf Member Association\u2019s Women’s National Team Head Coach.

This award, determined solely by fan voting, celebrates the most spectacular, technically brilliant, and game-changing goals scored across all Concacaf competitions during the season.<\/p>\n
