Cecilia Clark is taking matters into her own hands after finding a pair of coyotes curled up in her backyard.<\/p>\n
The Arlington mom has turned to Amazon to help keep coyotes away from her home after finding two of them sleeping on her back patio furniture.<\/p>\n
Curled up and comfortable, the coyotes gave Clark a close encounter she says was enough.<\/p>\n
“I was like, oh, my God! Those aren’t dogs. Those are coyotes because I’ve seen them before,” Clark said.<\/p>\n
Clark says she sees coyotes near her home every day now. She has turned to Amazon for a possible solution: solar-powered, motion-sensor pest repellents.<\/p>\n
“It’s automatic, so you see as we came this way, that little noise came, and you’ll notice it here, too,” Clark said.<\/p>\n
She is also reinforcing her fence, worried the animals could get too close to her 6-month-old baby boy.<\/p>\n
Just last year, coyotes bit three children at Parkway Central Park in north Arlington.<\/p>\n
“I imagine they\u2019re just looking for food or something because they\u2019re very skinny, that is for sure, you can, I can see where they\u2019re very hungry,” Rick Stein said.<\/p>\n
Stein says he has seen coyotes in the area for more than 12 years.<\/p>\n
The city of Arlington says it is not unusual for residents to spot coyotes, foxes, skunks, raccoons, and even feral hogs roaming their neighborhoods.<\/p>\n
Officials encourage residents to make their property less attractive to wildlife by securing trash and not leaving pet food outside.<\/p>\n
“I feel like they’re becoming more comfortable,” Clark said.<\/p>\n
