{"id":160983,"date":"2025-09-16T14:13:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-16T14:13:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/160983\/"},"modified":"2025-09-16T14:13:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-16T14:13:08","slug":"new-york-judge-tosses-terrorism-charges-against-luigi-mangione-lets-murder-count-stand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/160983\/","title":{"rendered":"New York judge tosses terrorism charges against Luigi Mangione, lets murder count stand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Manhattan judge dismissed on Tuesday two counts of murder involving terrorism against Luigi Mangione, the Maryland man charged with fatally shooting a UnitedHealthcare executive last December in protest of the company\u2019s health insurance policies.<\/p>\n<p>Supreme Court Justice Gregory Carro ruled that the first two counts of the indictment against Magione were \u201clegally insufficient.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The judge, however, decided that the other counts \u2013 second-degree murder, weapons charges and possession of fake identification \u2013 would remain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe People presented legally sufficient evidence ofall other counts, including Murder in the Second Degree (intentional).
