{"id":161476,"date":"2025-09-16T19:08:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-16T19:08:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/161476\/"},"modified":"2025-09-16T19:08:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-16T19:08:08","slug":"iva-jovic-who-is-american-teen-tennis-sensation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/161476\/","title":{"rendered":"Iva Jovic: Who is American teen tennis sensation?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">At just 17 years old, American rising star Iva Jovic has already won a WTA title &#8211; the youngest player this year to do so.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Guadalajara Open champion hails from Torrance in the US state of California, but her mother is from Croatia and her father is from Serbia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">She made her ITF tournament debut as a 14-year-old at the 2022 W15 Los Angeles, reaching the final. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">She also progressed to the third round at the 2022 Junior US Open, before winning her first ITF title in 2023 at the W25 Redding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Jovic made her Grand Slam debut when she was given a wildcard entry to the 2024 US Open &#8211; reaching the second round after beating Poland&#8217;s Magda Linette.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">She was also given wildcard entry to the 2025 Australian Open, again winning her opening match against Spain&#8217;s Nuria Parrizas-Diaz.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The American teen qualified for her first Wimbledon in 2025, but exited in the first round after losing to Suzan Lamens of the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Her new WTA title has brought her from a world ranking of 73 to 36.
