Granted, he\u2019d like to do some things with a little more consistency \u2014 stopping the run on defense, establishing the run on offense \u2014 but \u201cI can\u2019t be narrowed down with, \u2018What\u2019s your identity?\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cWhat does that mean, what\u2019s your identity?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOhio State won the national championship, right?\u201d Sanders countered. \u201cWhat did they hang their hat on?<\/p>\n
\u201cI understand what you\u2019re trying to say, but winning is winning, man. It\u2019s not one thing you can hang your hat on.\u201d<\/p>\n
After a bowl appearance last season with his QB son, Shedeur, and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, this year has been a work in progress.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not a patient man,\u201d Deion Sanders said. \u201cI\u2019m not a patient man on anything. I\u2019m a fixer. I want to fix the problems. I\u2019m not a guy that wants to linger and just have that stuff going on.\u201d<\/p>\n
This was a sign that Sanders appreciated \u2014 the next practice after a 36-20 loss to Houston, his defense showed up in full pads even when most of the players weren\u2019t required to do so. They were ready to get back to work.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m proud of the resilience,\u201d Sanders said. \u201cI\u2019m proud of the way they responded.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have the talent in house,\u201d he added. \u201cWe\u2019ve just got to put it to usage and do what we are capable of doing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ice Cube<\/p>\n
Since Ice Cube had a concert in Denver on Tuesday, Sanders extended him an invitation to practice.<\/p>\n
Sanders said the friendship between him and Ice Cube dates back to the late 1980s. Ice Cube used to show up at games when Sanders was with the Atlanta Falcons.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve been cool for a long time,\u201d Sanders said. \u201cJust to see the maturation and where he\u2019s ascended to is unbelievable.\u201d<\/p>\n
Volleyball respect<\/p>\n
Sanders made sure to shout out the Colorado women\u2019s volleyball team being 9-0, which matches the best start in program history.<\/p>\n
\u201cWow,\u201d he said. \u201cWe wish we were them.\u201d<\/p>\n
