{"id":166303,"date":"2025-09-18T22:13:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-18T22:13:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/166303\/"},"modified":"2025-09-18T22:13:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-18T22:13:07","slug":"unemployment-rises-in-iowa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/166303\/","title":{"rendered":"Unemployment rises in Iowa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) &#8211; Iowa\u2019s unemployment rate rose in August, according to a new report released Thursday by Iowa Workforce Development (IWD).<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Iowa\u2019s unemployment rate now stands at 3.8%. That\u2019s up from 3.7% in July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">IWD also reports the total number of unemployed Iowans also increased from 64,900 in July to 65,800 in August. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">However, the report also shows that the number of unemployed Iowans has increased by nearly 10,000 since August 2024 when IWD reported there were 55,500 unemployed Iowans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">IWD reports Iowa employers added 3,600 jobs during the month of August.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Iowa\u2019s workforce participation rate grew to 67.5% &#8212; up from 67.$% in July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The U.S. unemployment rate also increased in August.
