\n\tTim Heidecker<\/a> and Eric Wareheim<\/a>, the alternative comedy duo behind Adult Swim\u2019s \u201cTim and Eric<\/a> Awesome Show, Great Job!\u201d are experimenting in a new genre. Heidecker revealed at the premiere of \u201cHim\u201d on Wednesday that he and Wareheim are currently writing a horror script \u2014 and that their foray into the field may prove just as shocking as their comedy.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked if there were any future \u201cTim and Eric\u201d projects in the pipeline, Heidecker replied, \u201cWe\u2019re actually writing a horror movie that is going to be much sicker than most people are going to want to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tConsidering that Tim and Eric are known for off-key, irreverent and, indeed, sometimes sick senses of humor, it makes sense that their efforts in a different genre will also press boundaries. Heidecker was sparse on details regarding the project, providing no further comment on the plot, tone, or development stage, but candidly noting, \u201cWe\u2019ll see if it gets made.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDespite his comedy roots, Heidecker is already developing a horror filmography in front of the camera. In \u201cHim,\u201d a new sports horror thriller from director Justin Tipping, Heidecker plays the quarterback protagonist\u2019s agent. He also had a prominent role in Jordan Peele\u2019s \u201cUs\u201d in 2019. Peele also served as a producer on \u201cHim,\u201d proving his interest in the genre. <\/p>\n

\n\tAt the premiere, Heidecker admitted, \u201cI\u2019m not a big horror fanatic, but when they\u2019re really well done and when they have a message or they have something to say, I always appreciate that.\u201d Ironically, Tim and Eric\u2019s comedy is conspicuously absurdist, defying any notions of a message. The comedian\u2019s values may change depending on the genre, though. After all, \u201cKey & Peele\u201d was silly, yet Peele provides profound messages in his horror features. Likewise, Zach Cregger got his start making edgy jokes on \u201cWhitest Kids U\u2019Know,\u201d yet today, audiences are still unpacking the layers of meaning behind \u201cBarbarian\u201d and \u201cWeapons.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCould Heidecker and Wareheim be next in line as comedians-turned masters of suspense?
