Slack is introducing a number of new AI tools for users. The highest-paying tiers will have the most (and earliest) access. Among the tools that are available today or in the near future are an enterprise search functionality, language translation, meetings notes, message explanations and AI writing assistance.<\/p>\n
Slack, one of the most widely used office-communication tools, is getting an artificial-intelligence upgrade<\/a>.<\/p>\n The company is introducing a gaggle of new AI-driven tools<\/a> to its paid users, which it says will help users more quickly find information from their chats, as well as connected other apps.<\/p>\n As of Thursday, users on Enterprise+ plans can utilize the new enterprise search feature, which lets them look not only at Slack, but Google<\/a> Drive, Box<\/a>, Microsoft<\/a> Teams, and Salesforce<\/a> systems, assuming they\u2019re connected to the messaging service. Those users are also now able to access channel recaps and AI meeting notes.<\/p>\n Business+ and higher tiers also will be getting a language-translation feature, while Pro and higher levels will be able to use AI to generate meeting notes from Huddle conversations.<\/p>\n AI\u2011assisted message explanations, ensuring users don\u2019t get lost in long threads with explanation for project names, internal tools, and other company-specific terminology, and AI writing assistance, which can generate and assign action items, refine raw meeting notes and create FAQs, will also be added soon into Slack Canvas.<\/p>\n Slack is owned by Salesforce, which has been one of the biggest AI bulls for years. The company said the summary feature alone will save the average user 97 minutes per week<\/a>, which would normally be spent scrolling through threads.\n<\/p>\n
