Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was arrested just days before signing a deal with the Cowboys<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Authorities of Rock Hill, S.C. \u2014 Clowney\u2019s hometown \u2014 allege that the three-time Pro Bowler was attempting to park in an apartment parking lot that was not open to the public, WSOC reported Friday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Clowney, 32, was arrested in York County for trespassing and failure to identify. Both charges are misdemeanors.<\/p>\n

According to WSOC, Clowney said he was in the parking lot trying to visit his aunt, but authorities said he was not allowed to park there.<\/p>\n

After reportedly getting into an argument with the police and refusing to show his ID, Clowney was arrested.<\/p>\n

Clowney told the Cowboys\u2019 official website on Friday that he wasn\u2019t concerned about the arrest.<\/p>\n

\u201cMan, that\u2019s been going on my whole life down there. It ain\u2019t nothing new. Just move on from it. I\u2019m here now,\u201d Clowney said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Clowney was drafted by the Texans with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, and spent five seasons in Houston \u2014 where he made three consecutive Pro Bowls from 2016-18.<\/p>\n

After his time with the Texans, Clowney had bounced around a few teams, most recently playing for the Panthers last year.<\/p>\n

In 14 games played with Carolina, Clowney recorded 5.5 sacks, 46 tackles and nine tackles for loss.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys picked up Clowney following their 40-37 Week 2 win over the Giants<\/a> on Sunday to fill their pass-rushing void since dealing Micah Parsons to the Packers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has been an outstanding player, and he\u2019ll add some real depth,\u201d Jones told reporters,\u00a0according to ESPN<\/a>. \u201cAnd he\u2019s very credible and he\u2019ll help us. It\u2019s the kind of thing that we will continue to do. It\u2019s a lot of the reason we handle our roster the way that we have, so we can do these kinds of things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since trading away Parsons in late August, Jones has continued to defend the deal<\/a>, saying that it has improved Dallas\u2019 chances at winning now, pointing to the success of trading Hershel Walker in 1989 \u2014 which ultimately helped set the Cowboys up for three Super Bowl titles in the 1990s.<\/p>\n
