According to a report from Sportske Novosti (as captured by @iMiaSanMia<\/a>), Bayern Munich<\/a> sporting director Christoph Freund is monitoring Royale Union Saint-Gilloise forward Franjo Ivanovi\u0107: <\/p>\n

Christoph Freund is a fan of Royale Union Saint-Gilloise forward Franjo Ivanovi\u0107 (21). The Austria-born Croatian is mainly a striker but can play across all positions in attack. Freund is keeping an eye on the player, but as things stand there\u2019s no offer. Frankfurt are also interested in Ivanovi\u0107 and see him as a potential replacement for Marmoush\/Ekitike next to Burkardt. USG want around \u20ac25m. Ivanovi\u0107 is open to a Bundesliga move, having played for Augsburg at the beginning of his career. <\/p>\n

Given the current injury situation and the potential sales and exits for 2025 and 2026, this kind of move could make sense. It could be a good \u201cbuy low, sell high\u201d scenario on a player who is affordable and \u2014 per some scouts \u2014 has a high ceiling. <\/p>\n

Skeptics will point to Freund\u2019s 2024 winter transfer window<\/a> as a reason to think this is a bad idea. While in charge before Max Eberl took over as board member for sport, the sporting director acquired Daniel Peretz, Sacha Boey, and Bryan Zaragoza for approximately \u20ac45-\u20ac49 million \u2014 not exactly a murderer\u2019s row of impact players for that amount of money. <\/p>\n

Freund did strike gold with center-back Eric Dier in January of 2024, but many fans will not forget the other moves from that transfer window and have grown skeptical of Freund\u2019s ability to identify the right talent in the transfer market. <\/p>\n
