Two-time Grand Slam finalist Amanda Anisimova is enjoying a well-earned break this month.<\/p>\n

Anisimova, 24, is enjoying the best year of her career. In July, she shocked the tennis community by reaching the Wimbledon final. Less than two months later, she bounced back from a 6-0, 6-0 loss by making it to the US Open final. Unfortunately for the American, she fell short to Aryna Sabalenka 6-3, 7-5(3).<\/p>\n

“She was playing very aggressive and doing all the right things, so she made it very difficult for me today,” Anisimova said following the loss, via ESPN<\/a>. “I mean, I didn’t win today, so of course, I didn’t do enough. That’s just the reality, and I have to accept that. I feel like if I fought harder, then maybe I would have given myself more of a chance, but I feel like I was really kind of in the backseat today.”<\/p>\n

Although the US Open wrapped up on Sept. 6, Anisimova didn’t say farewell to New York until this weekend.<\/p>\n

Anisimova shared a photo of her at the InterContinental Barclay along with the caption: “Thank you for the stay.”<\/p>\n

Countless tennis fans complimented Anisimova’s appearance in this photo<\/a>. That’s not a huge surprise considering she’s one of the most popular players on tour.<\/p>\n

What’s next for Anisimova?<\/p>\n

Anisimova’s runner-up finish at the US Open catapulted her to No. 4 in the WTA rankings, the highest mark in her young career. Of course, her main goal is to win a major championship.<\/p>\n

“Making it to the final is obviously really special, but it would have been a dream come true to make it all the way. But, yeah, I mean, of course I’m motivated, and I hope I can keep working really hard to give myself more opportunities to be in more and more finals.”<\/p>\n

If Anisimova can build off her success at the US Open, she should be considered a serious contender at the Australian Open in January.<\/p>\n
