{"id":171375,"date":"2025-09-21T07:35:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-21T07:35:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/171375\/"},"modified":"2025-09-21T07:35:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-21T07:35:09","slug":"nascar-broadcast-veteran-announces-retirement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/171375\/","title":{"rendered":"NASCAR broadcast veteran announces retirement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#13;<br \/>\n                                                                                                Change your timezone:&#13;<br \/>\n                                                                                                &#13;<br \/>\n                                                &#13;\n                                            <\/p>\n<p>A veteran of <a title=\"NASCAR \" href=\"https:\/\/www.gpfans.com\/us\/tags\/nascar\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NASCAR <\/a>has confirmed that 2025 will be their last season covering the Cup Series.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nOn Thursday evening, Performance Racing Network\u2019s (PRN) Mark Garrow announced on Facebook that he would be retiring his iconic voice from motorsport\u2019s airwaves after over 40 years in the business. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nGarrow has provided motorsport insights on a variety of networks from FOX and ESPN to TNN and TNT, earning the National Motorsports Press Association Broadcaster of the Year award six times. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nThe caller\u2019s passion for racing was formed during his early years, attending his first race at just one years old, where his mother was a scorer at a local short track while his father was a flagman. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nGarrow started out his career as a public relations director at Dover Downs Speedway, before he helped to build the team that won the 1990 Busch Series (Xfinity) Championship with Chuck Bown.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nREAD MORE: <a title=\"NASCAR Qualifying Results: Logano and Blaney battle for pole as Penske shine at New Hampshire\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gpfans.com\/us\/f1-news\/1062483\/nascar-qualifying-results-today-cup-series-new-hampshire-times-order-starting-lineup\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NASCAR Qualifying Results: Logano and Blaney battle for pole as Penske shine at New Hampshire<\/a>&#13;<\/p>\n<p>Mark Garrow announces NASCAR retirement<\/p>\n<p>\nGarrow announced his retirement on Facebook, and said: \u201cTo think I\u2019ve been broadcasting <a title=\"Cup Series\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gpfans.com\/us\/tags\/nascar-cup-series\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cup Series<\/a> races for more than 40 years, that I was on the air when Richard Petty won his 200th race, that I have done close to 10,000 daily radio shows, and that I have worked with so many great people along the way has been a great blessing.\u201d&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\nMRN became Garrow\u2019s first home on air, thanking those who helped him into broadcast during his retirement announcement. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cI\u2019ve always appreciated Mike Joy and John McMullin opening the door for me to work at MRN and the folks at Capitol Sports for allowing me to build a radio network from the ground up,\u201d Garrow added. &#13;<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cI\u2019m also proud to have worked with Jay Adamcyzk and to have helped engineer Jayski&#8217;s Silly Season Site\u2019s explosive business growth.
