Examples of other similar drugs include Mounjaro, approved for diabetes, and Zepbound, approved for obesity, both made by Eli Lilly.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s hard to escape the numerous Ozempic before-and-after<\/a> photos on social media of people who have seen drastic results while using the medication. And whenever a celebrity has appeared looking slimmer as of late, the Ozempic accusations always follow. <\/p>\n There are a few celebrities who’ve spoken openly about taking weight-loss medications. Here’s what they’ve said. <\/p>\n (If you are interested in trying a weight-loss medication, talk to your doctor first.)<\/p>\n Chrissy Teigen In Sept. 2025, Christy Teigen revealed she turned to Ozempic following her 2020 miscarriage, during an episode of her podcast Self-Conscious<\/a>. <\/p>\n She said that, at the time, it was her response to her \u201cdeep depression of seeing this pregnant belly with no baby in it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMy body was completely stuck,\u201d she said. \u201cI really let myself indulge when I was pregnant. So, when I had lost that baby at 20 weeks, I had probably gained an extra 40 pounds that I wasn\u2019t comfortable with.\u201d<\/p>\n Teigen said she also struggled with the reduction in hunger cues often associated with medications used for weight loss. \u201cIt was frustrating for me because I know that logically you need food to have energy,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Serena Williams After the birth of her second child, Serena Williams turned to a GLP-1 medication to help with weight loss, she revealed exclusively to TODAY<\/a>.<\/p>\n The tennis star said she’s proof that you can do everything right and still struggle to lose weight. Combined with her professional training, Williams would “walk for hours,” she switched to a vegetarian diet, then a vegan one and, still, she struggled to shed the pounds. <\/p>\n \u201cA misconception is that (a GLP-1 is) a shortcut,\u201d she told TODAY.com. \u201cAs an athlete and as someone that has done everything, I just couldn\u2019t get my weight to where I needed to be at a healthy place \u2014 and believe me, I don\u2019t take shortcuts.\u201d<\/p>\n Since using a GLP-1, Williams says her blood sugar levels have improved and her joints feel lighter. <\/p>\n Meghan Trainor Following a big win at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music awards, Meghan Trainor noticed most of the comments were about her body rather than her accomplishment. <\/p>\n “…It\u2019s a little disheartening that so many of the questions (and comments) were focused on my body instead of my music, my passion, or the decade of hard work that got me here. This is what it\u2019s like to be a woman in the music industry,” she wrote on Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n She pointed out that she’s worked with a dietitian and a trainer<\/a> to be the best version of herself for her children and that process also included turning to the weight loss drug Mounjaro. <\/p>\n “I\u2019ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shoutout to Mounjaro!) to help me after my 2nd pregnancy. And I\u2019m so glad I did because I feel great,” she said. <\/p>\n Oprah Winfrey During an interview with People in December 2023, Winfrey revealed that she takes a weight-loss drug<\/a>, but didn’t specify which one.<\/p>\n \u201cI now use it as I feel I need it, as a tool to manage not yo-yoing,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n The TV personality, who has spoken at length about her weight struggles throughout her career, told People the drug helps her maintain a healthy weight. <\/p>\n \u201cThe fact that there\u2019s a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift, and not something to hide behind and once again be ridiculed for. I\u2019m absolutely done with the shaming from other people and particularly myself,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Once upon a time, Winfrey considered weight-loss drugs an “easy way out,” but she’s changed her tune since then. <\/p>\n \u201cI realized I\u2019d been blaming myself all these years for being overweight, and I have a predisposition that no amount of willpower is going to control,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Kelly Clarkson Kelly Clarkson revealed during an episode of her talk show when speaking with Whoopi Goldberg that she is taking a drug to help her lose weight, though she didn’t specify which one. <\/p>\n \u201cEveryone thinks it\u2019s Ozempic \u2014 it\u2019s not. It\u2019s something else,\u201d Clarkson said. \u201cBut it\u2019s something that aids in helping break down the sugar. Obviously my body doesn\u2019t do it right.\u201d<\/p>\n Clarkson added that taking a weight-loss medication<\/a> has been “really good” for her, even though she was hesitant to try it at first due to past health issues. <\/p>\n \u201cMy doctor chased me for like two years, and I was like, \u2018No I\u2019m afraid of it, I already have thyroid problems,\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n She ultimately decided to try it \u201cbecause my blood work got so bad,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cMy heaviest, I was like 203, and I\u2019m 5 foot 3 and a half,\u201d Clarkson continued. \u201cIt\u2019s funny because people assume, \u2018Oh she must\u2019ve been miserable, depressed, whatever,\u2019 and I was like, \u2018No I was not.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Kathy Bates Kathy Bates recently shared that she lost 100 pounds<\/a> over the past seven years thanks to lifestyle changes as well as Ozempic.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s been a lot of talk that I just was able to do this because of Ozempic,\u201d Bates told People. \u201cBut I have to impress upon people out there that this was hard work for me, especially during the pandemic. It\u2019s very hard to say you\u2019ve had enough.\u201d<\/p>\n She also opened up about her weight loss journey on during an October 2024 appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show.”<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve recently gone on Ozempic and everybody said, \u2018Oh, she did it with Ozempic\u2019 but that\u2019s not true. I started doing that about a year ago for my diabetes and that\u2019s helped me lose the last 15 pounds or so,\u201d she told Barrymore. \u201cBut even with the Ozempic, I still have to pay attention (to my eating.\u201d<\/p>\n Harvey Fierstein The Broadway legend shared that he lost 120 pounds using Zepbound. He tried it after reaching 310 pounds during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n “What\u2019s different is what the drug actually does for you, which is: I don\u2019t feel like I\u2019m dieting,\u201d Fierstein told Page Six<\/a>. \u201cI feel like a normal person. I can go and have dinner with friends and not have to eat every piece of bread on the table, and then not go have ice cream when I\u2019ve done with dinner.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cPeople don\u2019t understand that being fat is not a choice,\u201d he added. \u201cIt\u2019s something that your body is out of whack and this puts your body in whack.\u201d<\/p>\n Fierstein shared that after going off the medication, he regained about 15 pounds but has stayed at around 200 pounds.<\/p>\n Jim Gaffigan Comedian Jim Gaffigan told People<\/a> in November 2024 that he lost 50 pounds using Mounjaro. He made the decision to try the medication after reaching 270 pounds.<\/p>\n \u201cI had very low expectations because I did know someone that had tried it, and they were like, \u2018Oh no, I was just nauseous for a week,\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cAnd then I thought my true joy of eating would overpower anything.\u201d<\/p>\n But it turned out to be an effective approach for him. “I feel good,\u201d he told People. \u201cI\u2019m just grateful because it\u2019s such a better life.\u201d<\/p>\n He added that he’s sharing his experience to destigmatize weight-loss drugs.<\/p>\n \u201cI almost thought it was kind of odd that people were resistant to talking about it. I don\u2019t think there\u2019s anything wrong with it. There\u2019s people walking around that obviously do not have blonde hair \u2014 yet they do. I don\u2019t think that\u2019s weird, either. It\u2019s just whatever gets you through,” Gaffigan said.<\/p>\n James Corden James Corden said he tried Ozempic but it was not that effective for him in September on his podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n “I tried Ozempic, and it won\u2019t be surprising to you when you look at me now, that it didn\u2019t really work,\u201d Corden said. \u201cI tried it for a bit and then what I realized was I was like, \u2018Oh no, nothing about my eating has anything to do with being hungry.\u2019 All this does is make you feel not hungry.”<\/p>\n Kandi Burruss The former Xscape member revealed that she tried a weight-loss drug on the Virtual Reali-Tea podcast<\/a> in June.<\/p>\n \u201cLast year, I tried it. I saw so many people who were trying it and losing weight. So I was like, \u2018OK, I\u2019m going to try this.\u2019 And I didn\u2019t lose any weight,” she said.<\/p>\n “My doctor was like, \u2018I don\u2019t know what the problem is, I\u2019m not seeing this in other people.\u2019 … It didn\u2019t curb my appetite. I know some people are like, \u2018Oh, I can\u2019t eat.\u2019 Not me. I was eating appetizers, a regular meal and dessert. It didn\u2019t stop anything for me.”<\/p>\n She had mental health struggles when the drug didn’t work for her, she said: “It makes you depressed. Realistically, it makes you feel like, \u2018What is wrong with me? Why is it not working for me?'”<\/p>\n Amy Schumer While chatting with Andy Cohen in June 2023, Schumer confirmed that she did try Ozempic<\/a> “like a year ago” but quickly stopped due to the side effects. <\/p>\n \u201cI was one of the people that felt like sick, I couldn\u2019t like play with my son,\u201d she said during an episode of \u201cWatch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite the results she began to see, Schumer said it wasn’t worth it to continue taking the drug. <\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re like, \u2018OK, this isn\u2019t livable for me,\u2019 but I immediately invested because I\u2019m like, \u2018Everyone and their mom is going to try it,\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n The comedian also encouraged other celebrities to be more honest if they are using Ozempic or similar medications.<\/p>\n \u201cEverybody (is) lying, everyone\u2019s like, \u2018Oh, smaller portions,\u2019 like shut the f— up, you\u2019re on Ozempic or one of those things,\u201d she said. \u201cJust be real with the people.\u201d<\/p>\n In order to “keep it 100” with her fans and social media followers, Schumer revealed she was taking Mounjaro, a prescription drug that\u2019s approved to treat Type 2 diabetes and also commonly prescribed for weight loss. In the video, posted on Instagram<\/a> March 2025, she revealed that she’d had a \u201creally good experience\u201d on Mounjaro. Before that, she’d also tried Wegovy which she said she couldn’t “handle.”<\/p>\n Whoopi Goldberg Whoopi Goldberg told Kelly Clarkson that she had lost the weight of “almost two people”<\/a> since starting Mounjaro, a medication approved to treat Type 2 diabetes.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m doing that wonderful shot that works for folks who need some help and it\u2019s been really good for me,\u201d Goldberg told Clarkson after she commented on how youthful Goldberg looks. \u201cIt\u2019s all the weight I\u2019ve lost.\u201d<\/p>\n The EGOT winner previously revealed she was taking Mounjaro on “The View” in March. <\/p>\n \u201cMy weight has come and gone, and up and down, but it\u2019s never been an issue for me because I don\u2019t listen to what other people say about me so it has never been a problem,\u201d she said. \u201cBut I think it\u2019s very hard for people to just know what a normal weight would be. … Everyone has something to say but no one said, \u2018How you doing?\u2019 Because it involves so many other things.\u201d<\/p>\n Tracy Morgan While appearing on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna<\/a> in August 2023, Morgan approached the topic of his Ozempic use in a comedic way.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019ve been working on your body and on your health,\u201d Hoda Kotb said.<\/p>\n Morga cheekily replied: “No, that’s Ozempic. That\u2019s how this weight got lost.”<\/p>\n It initially seemed like a joke, but he later confirmed it was true. \u201cI went and got a prescription and I got Ozempic,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I ain\u2019t letting it go!\u201d <\/p>\n In a March 2024 appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Morgan said he’s gained weight on Ozempic. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve learned to out-eat Ozempic. I out-ate Ozempic. I\u2019ve gained 40 pounds,\u201d Morgan quipped with a joking tone.\u00a0<\/p>\n It’s not clear if Morgan is still taking the medication, but gaining weight after stopping a weight-loss drug<\/a> is common, research shows.<\/p>\n Sharon Osbourne Osbourne has been open about her weight struggles over the years and recently revealed that she had taken Ozempic to help manage her weight. However, she felt she lost too much weight and didn’t want to continue the medication.<\/p>\n \u201cI lost 42 pounds now and it\u2019s just enough,\u201d she said during an episode of Piers Morgan\u2019s podcast, per E! news.<\/a> \u201cI didn\u2019t actually want to go this thin, but it just happened and I\u2019ll probably put it all on again soon.\u201d<\/p>\n She added that she experienced nausea as a side effect <\/p>\n \u201cYou don\u2019t throw up physically but you\u2019ve got that feeling,” she said. “I was about two, three weeks where I felt nauseous the whole time. You get very thirsty and you don\u2019t want to eat. That\u2019s it.\u201d<\/p>\n Heather Gay In November 2023, the “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star told People <\/a>that she was “on the Ozempic train” and had been taking it “for a long time.”<\/p>\n “I haven\u2019t had massive results, but enough for people to notice, which is great,” she added.<\/p>\n Chelsea Handler During a January 2023 appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Chelsea Handler said that her anti-aging doctor “just hands (Ozempic) out to anybody.”<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t even know I was on it. She said, \u2018If you ever want to drop 5 pounds, this is good,\u2019\u201d Handler recalled. <\/p>\n When the comedian returned from a vacation, she said decided to take an injection of the drug, not fully understanding what it was.<\/p>\n “I went to lunch with a girlfriend a few days later, and she was like, \u2018I\u2019m not really eating anything. I\u2019m so nauseous, I\u2019m on Ozempic,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018I\u2019m kind of nauseous too.\u2019 But I had just come back from Spain and was jet-lagged.\u201d <\/p>\n At that point, Handler stopped using the medication.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m an irresponsible drug user, but I\u2019m not gonna take a diabetic drug,” she said. “I tried it, and I\u2019m not going to do that. That\u2019s not for me. That\u2019s not right for me.\u201d<\/p>\n Remi Bader When she was pre-diabetic and gaining weight in 2020, Bader’s doctor recommended that she try Ozempic.<\/p>\n \u201cThey said I\u00a0need\u00a0this. And I had a lot of mixed feelings,\u201d she told People<\/a> in January 2023. \u201cA few months later, I went off it and got into the bad binging.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt was making me think I wasn\u2019t hungry for so long, I lost some weight,” she continued. “I didn\u2019t want to be obsessed with being on it long term. I was like, I bet the second I got off I\u2019m going get starving again. I did, and my binging got so much worse.”<\/p>\n Claudia Oshry The social media personality was frank about her use of Ozempic in August 2023. <\/p>\n \u201cYou thought they were going to make a weight-loss drug and I wasn\u2019t going to take it?\u201d she said during an episode of her podcast, per People<\/a>. \u201cYou\u2019re dumb. Of course, I\u2019m f\u2014ing taking it.\u201d<\/p>\n Oshry acknowledged that she was a “little embarrassed” when she first went on the drug. <\/p>\n \u201cLike, \u2018Oh my God, I have to inject myself with something just to get my fat a– to stop eating. Other people can do it without, why can\u2019t I?\u2019 In the beginning, my decision to not share was rooted in a little bit of shame,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n Although she had success with Ozempic, Oshry was clear that she wasn’t trying to offer medical advice to anyone. <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s what\u2019s working for me now. That\u2019s the only reason I\u2019ve been kind of hesitant to talk about it because I don\u2019t want to be like, \u2018I\u2019ve figured it out. I\u2019ve solved the problem for life.\u2019 I have not,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n She’s since revealed that she’s no longer on the medication and has since noticed some surprising changes in her body.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m so hungry all the … time and I\u2019m always looking for good treats because I\u2019m still trying to lose weight but on my own,\u201d she said in a March 2024\u00a0TikTok<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m always looking for snacks and things to fill me up.\u201d<\/p>\n “I cannot stay full. It\u2019s impossible,” she continued. “I just had a 12-ounce steak, and I\u2019m starving so I\u2019m eating popcorn. How are we staying full?”<\/p>\n Patti Stanger In February 2023, “Millionaire Matchmaker” star Patti Stanger said that she has tried several medications for weight loss. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m on the shot,\u201d she said during an episode of the “Behind the Velvet Rope”\u00a0podcast. \u201cI\u2019m going to tell you the truth. I went on semaglutide, which is the ingredient in Ozempic.\u201d<\/p>\n Afterward, she experienced side effects and stopped taking the drug after three weeks. Then, Stanger tried Mounjaro. She didn’t experience the same side effects while taking this medication. <\/p>\n \u201cI am not nauseous like everybody else,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Emily Simpson Over the summer, the star of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” said she started taking Ozempic after learning that she was pre-diabetic and had high cholesterol. <\/p>\n \u201cI (took Ozempic) in December for one month,\u201d Simpson said, adding that it was a \u201cgreat kickstart\u201d and \u201cworked amazing.\u201d <\/p>\n The reality star lost between 5 and 7 pounds and said the drug made her “more conscientious of what I was eating.” But she stopped using it because of the side effects.<\/p>\n \u201cIt made me feel lethargic, and it made me just not have a lot of energy, which was hard with three little kids,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Dolores Catania While chatting with Andy Cohen in April 2023, the star of “The\u00a0Real Housewives of New Jersey”\u00a0said she had been taking Ozempic.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat housewife isn\u2019t on Ozempic?\u201d Cohen mused, per People.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cNot one \u2026 I wasn\u2019t going to come to (the) reunion looking bigger than anyone else, so I got on the bandwagon,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Catania said she hadn’t experienced any negative side effects. <\/p>\n Lauren Manzo After she was considered “morbidly obese” by a doctor, the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” alum said started taking Mounjaro. Per People<\/a>, the reality star lost a significant amount of weight while taking the drug. <\/p>\n \u201cSince February, I\u2019ve lost 30 pounds from Mounjaro,\u201d she said in May 2023 during a podcast episode. \u201cAnd I get it \u2014 people don\u2019t like it, people don\u2019t applaud it, people aren\u2019t whatever, but it\u2019s a shot in your stomach once a week. \u2026 You guys have seen the struggle with this since I\u2019m 20 years old, and it\u2019s been really hard for me.\u201d<\/p>\n Manzo said the drug has helped her more than other weight-loss methods.<\/p>\n \u201cI mean, I\u2019m not going lie, I feel like there have been times that I\u2019ve been on the brink of an eating disorder or had issues myself. And this is the one thing \u2014 even above weight loss surgery \u2014 that has helped me a lot and cured me and mentally made me so much better. And I\u2019m really grateful for it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Golnesa \u2018GG\u2019 Gharachedaghi In June 2023, the “Shahs of Sunset” star told her social media followers that she’d lost more weight than she intended to while taking Ozempic. <\/p>\n Per People<\/a>, the star started off at 138 pounds and got down to 110 pounds after using the drug. <\/p>\n \u201cWill I come off of it? Maybe. Will I gain it all back? Maybe. But for now, I\u2019m enjoying the way I look. I\u2019m enjoying what it\u2019s doing for me,\u201d she said. \u201cI encourage it to anybody who\u2019s having a hard time losing weight and wants the \u2018easy route.\u2019 Summer\u2019s around the corner. I\u2019m not trying to stress that being skinny is what you should do, but truth is, some of y\u2019all want to do it. So I\u2019m talking to you guys\u2026 not the f\u2014ing haters.\u201d<\/p>\n Luckily, Gharachedaghi said, she didn’t experience side effects, such as Ozempic face<\/a>, from the rapid weight loss. <\/p>\n \u201cAs you can see, it did not affect my face. Yes, I do get fillers and Botox and all that but I haven\u2019t gotten anything (recently). So just so you can see, it\u2019s not sagging,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Charles Barkley The former NBA star shared on his CNN show “King Charles” that he lost 65 pounds while taking Mounjaro. But he’s been off it for about four months and has since gained 12 pounds back.<\/p>\n “There\u2019s so many different ways to lose weight,” he said. “There\u2019s no shoe size that fits all. But I gained 105 pounds … and a friend of mine says, ‘Yo, man, I want you to go to this doctor,’ because I can\u2019t eat less and work out enough to lose 100 pounds.”\u00a0<\/p>\n “And he says, try this drug. And I started taking Mounjaro. And I have lost 65 pounds. I started my journey at 355 pounds. I played at 250. … I\u2019m down to 285.”<\/p>\n While Barkley said his doctor told him he’s now at a “good, healthy weight,” he’s hoping to go back on Mounjaro and lose another 15 pounds.<\/p>\n Billie Jean King During an April 2024 appearance on\u00a0the \u201cWiser Than Me\u201d podcast with Julia Louis-Dreyfus<\/a>, the 80-year-old tennis great shared that she started taking Ozempic because she hoped it would help manage her eating disorder. She’s taken a few injections so far, she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m a binge eater.\u00a0Every morning I wake up, I tell myself, \u2018I have an eating disorder,\u2019\u201d King explained. \u201cI still go to therapy.\u00a0I still think about it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s two sides. Let\u2019s say I want a quart of ice cream. One side will say, \u2018Yeah, baby, I\u2019m going to have that ice cream no matter what!\u2019\u201d she continued. \u201cThe other side says, \u2018No, don\u2019t do that. It\u2019s not healthy. You know you don\u2019t need it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n King shared that she started using Ozempic on her physician\u2019s recommendation. Some people on the weight loss medication have reported that they think about food much less<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIf (weight-loss medication) does quiet the voices \u2014 if that\u2019s a part of it \u2014 now I\u2019m (interested in) it because that would be\u00a0really\u00a0great, because that gets exhausting and tiring.\u00a0And I don\u2019t want to fight over these things.\u201d<\/p>\n She added that her goal for taking Ozempic is not to lose weight fast because “I think it looks horrible. … I would like to lose it slowly.”<\/p>\n Jon Gosselin![\"Chrissy](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Chrissy-Teigen-te-250312-ed3a6a.jpg\")
