\n\tThe Daily Show<\/a>\u2018s Jon Stewart<\/a> addressed ABC\u2019s reinstatement of Jimmy Kimmel<\/a>\u2018s late-night show, set to return tomorrow, and issued a stern warning to those who would continue to back president Donald Trump<\/a> throughout his continued \u201cauthoritarian power grabs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFirst tackling Kimmel\u2019s forthcoming reprisal following his abrupt and indefinite preemption by the Disney broadcasting network<\/a>, which received strong audience applause and cheers, Stewart said, \u201cI\u2019ll tell you, Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s flying high like Advil today,\u201d referencing Trump\u2019s press conference earlier today on the causes of autism, which he linked to acetaminophen usage<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe political comic continued, \u201cThat campaign that you all launched, pretending that you were going to cancel Hulu while secretly racing through four seasons of Only Murders in the Building, that really worked, congratulations.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe added of parent corporation Disney\u2019s dominance in the media: \u201cWasn\u2019t it interesting, to try and figure out all the tentacles Disney has in your daily life? It\u2019s one thing to swear off cruises, but the Avengers? Nahhh. How is it possible that by getting rid of one company, I can\u2019t watch Winnie the Pooh or Monday Night Football? Or listen to early Hilary Duff?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLater in the segment \u2014 after discussing Trump\u2019s recent Truth Social post, in which he urged U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to enable the Department of Justice to prosecute his political rivals<\/a> \u2014 Stewart issued a call to Trump\u2019s supporters.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou don\u2019t have to bend over backwards trying to make Trump\u2019s authoritarian power grabs seem like the rule of law. He does not give a f\u2014 anymore. He\u2019s saying it straight-up,\u201d the host said. \u201cTrump is saying: \u2018The people like dictators<\/a>.\u2019 Trump is saying: \u2018I hate my opponents, and I want them punished<\/a>.\u2019 And Trump is saying: \u2018I\u2019ll use all the levers of government at my disposal to accomplish that goal.\u2019 So you can get on board with that and say, \u2018I\u2019m with that,\u2019 or you can join the rest of us and fight like hell for this constitutional republic.\u201d<\/p>\n
