The decision comes three days before the thriller starring <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/jessica-chastain\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jessica-chastain\" data-tag=\"jessica-chastain\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jessica Chastain<\/a> was slated to premiere on the streamer Sept. 26. No new date has been set.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cAfter careful consideration, we have made the decision to postpone The Savant,\u201d an Apple TV+ spokesperson said in a statement to Deadline. \u201cWe appreciate your understanding and look forward to releasing the series at a future date.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe streamer would not elaborate on the reasons for the last-minute change but The Savant\u2019s subject matter is believed to be behind it, with the storyline about preventing extremist attacks and some of the imagery considered possibly triggering following <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/09\/charlie-kirk-dead-trump-activist-shot-at-utah-rally-1236528057\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Sept. 10 assassination of right-wing political activist Charlie Kirk<\/a>. The series includes a sniper in action and the bombing of a government building among other acts of violence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThere has been more unrest lately, including <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/09\/abc-building-gunshots-sacramento-affiliate-arrest-1236549990\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the shooting into the offices of Sacramento ABC affiliate KXTV<\/a> (ABC10) on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFrom writer\/executive producer\/showrunner Melissa James Gibson, Fifth Season and Anonymous Content, The Savant follows an undercover investigator known as \u201cThe Savant\u201d (Chastain), who infiltrates online hate groups to stop domestic extremists before they act.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re on the verge of serious violence,\u201d Chastain\u2019s character says in the trailer, evoking a potential attack of the scope of 9\/11. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe cast also includes Cole Doman, Jordana Spiro, Trinity Lee Shirley, Toussaint Francois Battiste, and guest star Pablo Schreiber. James Badge Dale appears in a major recurring role.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tChastain and Kelly Carmichael executive produce through the former\u2019s Freckle Films banner alongside Alan Poul, Melissa James Gibson, and Matthew Heineman, who also directs. David Levine and Garrett Kemble serve as executive producers for Anonymous Content.
