Directed by Paul Feig and starring Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Melissa McCarthy and more, this movie is a comfort film to many at this point. It\u2019s goofy, it\u2019s heartfelt, and it changed the game for female-led comedies.<\/p>\n

Liar Liar (1997)<\/p>\n

In case it\u2019s been a bit, here\u2019s a quick refresher: Carrey plays Fletcher, a lawyer and father who lies as easily as he breathes. When his 5-year-old son makes a birthday wish that Fletcher can\u2019t lie for one whole day, things go off the rails almost immediately.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re the Millers (2013)<\/p>\n

If you enjoy the \u201cfake dating\u201d or \u201cfound family\u201d trope, \u201cWe\u2019re the Millers\u201d is the move, because it\u2019s literally a fake family. It\u2019s stuffed with comedy legends like Kathryn Hahn, Offerman, Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston, but also features early performances from actors including Will Poulter, who literally became a meme because of this movie. Make sure to stick around for the blooper reel, it\u2019s worth it.<\/p>\n

Cristela Alonzo: Upper Classy (2025)<\/p>\n

Sure, this is technically a comedy special, but we\u2019re counting it. Just released this week, \u201cUpper Classy\u201d is Cristela Alonzo\u2019s newest stand-up special, rounding out a trilogy that began in 2017. Filmed at The Majestic in Dallas, Texas, Cristela jokes about doing better than her high school bully, spa visits, taking her family on their first vacation ever and more.<\/p>\n

Shrek (2001)<\/p>\n

With Shrek 5 on the way, we think it\u2019s time to head back to the beginning, but really, there\u2019s never a bad time to watch Shrek. Honestly, we\u2019d recommend making it a double feature with Shrek 2, just so you can also hear Jennifer Saunders\u2019 cover of \u201cHolding Out for a Hero.\u201d<\/p>\n

Long before Seth Rogen was winning Emmys for \u201cThe Studio,\u201d he was starring alongside Katherine Heigl in Judd Apatow\u2019s comedy \u201cKnocked Up.\u201d In the film, the two have a drunken one-night stand that leads to an unplanned pregnancy, and they must figure out where to go from there. It\u2019s one of Apatow\u2019s most beloved by fans, and it hit Netflix earlier this month.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a few years since \u201cTop Gun: Maverick\u201d hit screens, and you might be feeling the need for speed again. Good news, \u201cHot Shots!\u201d just hit Netflix this month. It\u2019s largely a spoof of \u201cTop Gun,\u201d though it definitely pokes at other movies too. Plus, it\u2019s directed and co-written by Jim Abrahams, the same man who gave the world \u201cAirplane!\u201d You\u2019ll almost certainly get a laugh.<\/p>\n
