{"id":181685,"date":"2025-09-25T22:18:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-25T22:18:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/181685\/"},"modified":"2025-09-25T22:18:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-25T22:18:09","slug":"sydney-sweeney-pic-christy-sells-to-key-international-markets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/181685\/","title":{"rendered":"Sydney Sweeney Pic &#8216;Christy&#8217; Sells To Key International Markets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/black-bear\/\" id=\"auto-tag_black-bear\" data-tag=\"black-bear\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Black Bear<\/a> has locked a series of international distribution deals on <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/christy\/\" id=\"auto-tag_christy\" data-tag=\"christy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Christy<\/a>, the boxing drama starring Sydney Sweeney, which debuted at this year\u2019s Toronto International Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDeals include Tobis Film for Germany and Austria, Roadshow Films and Kismet in Australia and New Zealand, Metropolitan Filmexport in France, Belga Films in Benelux, Ascot Elite in Switzerland, Lusomundo in Portugal, Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions in Italy, Spain, Scandinavia, Latin America, the Middle East, South Africa, and portions of Asia.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe film has also been sold to The Film Group for Greece, Top Film in Ukraine and Eastern Europe, ACME in the Baltics, Caribbean Cinemas in the West Indies, Forum Film in Israel, MovieCloud in Taiwan, Pioneer Films in the Philippines, and Star Entertainment in India.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBlack Bear is distributing Christy directly in the UK and Ireland, in Canada via subsidiary Elevation Pictures, and in the US, where it will be the inaugural film of Black Bear\u2019s U.S. theatrical distribution slate. Christy will be released in theaters nationwide in the U.S. on November 7.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe film is based on the life of Christy Martin and was directed by David Mich\u00f4d. Sweeney plays Martin, a small-town West Virginian who became one of the first star female boxers by the late 1980s, soaring to global star status (she was the first in her sport to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated) under the guidance of her trainer-manager and eventual husband Jim (Ben Foster).
