Merlin Rohl was Everton\u2019s final signing of the summer transfer window this season.<\/p>\n
The attacking midfielder joined the Toffees on loan from Freiburg, with an obligation to buy.<\/p>\n
Rohl has already impressed at Everton<\/a>, making a solid cameo in his debut against Aston Villa earlier in September.<\/p>\n However, while the German has proved to be an exciting prospect on the pitch, there is plenty of concern off it.<\/p>\n Rohl has now missed Everton\u2019s last two fixtures<\/a> with a hip injury.<\/p>\n While this is not expected to be serious, it continues a worrying trend that has now followed him to England.<\/p>\n The attacking midfielder has commonly been found on the sidelines, with Rohl<\/a> missing 19 matches for club and country last season through injury, and a further five in the campaign prior.<\/p>\n Everton have reached a late agreement to sign Rohl on deadline day The midfielder is set to join on loan with the option to buyRohl impressed with German\u2019s Under 21s in the European Championship this summer<\/p>\n This exposes a potential issue for Moyes<\/a>, as he may not be able to rely on his new signing to be fit throughout the campaign.<\/p>\n Therefore, this is a big blunder from Everton<\/a>, as Rohl\u2019s injury record should have been properly examined before approving the signing.<\/p>\n However, there is always a chance that the youngster quickly recovers from his injury and does not pick up a knock for the foreseeable future.\u00a0<\/p>\n While the injury has been frustrating, Rohl\u2019s current time on the sidelines was only predicted to be short-term.<\/p>\n As a result, while the German is a doubt, Rohl could make his return for the West Ham match.<\/p>\n This would prove to be a big boost for Moyes, with Everton currently struggling to find the back of the net<\/a>.<\/p>\n Hopefully, over the coming weeks, Rohl is able to return to the pitch and make an impact for the Merseyside club.<\/p>\n Enjoyed this article?
