The former \u201cLate Show\u201d host \u2014 in a video shared<\/a> to his YouTube channel \u2014 said he was \u201cthrilled\u201d to see Trump take to Truth Social<\/a> to question what happened to him and claim that his old show\u2019s ratings were \u201cnever very good.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe looks like hell, but at least he knew when to quit. LOSER!!!\u201d wrote Trump of Letterman.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s post arrived a day after Letterman took on the president<\/a> and Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr, who threatened to strip ABC of its broadcast license over Kimmel\u2019s comments on the Charlie Kirk assassination.<\/p>\n

On Friday, Letterman likened Trump\u2019s post to Santa Claus knocking at his door with a \u201cbig bag of gifts.\u201d<\/p>\n

He quipped that all of Trump\u2019s points were \u201ctrue\u201d before tossing to a 2008 clip of the future president<\/a> remarking on the ratings of the \u201cLate Show\u201d while bragging about his \u201cvery successful\u201d Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy the way, congratulations on your ratings, ratings have been very good,\u201d Trump told Letterman before the audience applauded.<\/p>\n

Letterman said Trump\u2019s remarking on his looks is like the \u201ckettle calling the pot black\u201d and urged Americans to stop being surprised by the president\u2019s \u201clunatic behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a dictator, this is what dictators do, the real question is, \u2018What should we do?\u2019 We would rather not have a dictator,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the video, Letterman declared that Kimmel has singlehandedly saved \u201cthe republic,\u201d calling his return monologue<\/a> on Tuesday \u201cperfect and moving.\u201d<\/p>\n
