The 2025-26 Portland Trail Blazers<\/a> season unofficially begins Monday, when the team holds its annual media day at the Moda Center.<\/p>\n

The rebuilding Blazers return most of the key young pieces from a roster that overachieved in the second half of last season, when the team went 23-18 to surprisingly finish with 36 wins.<\/p>\n

But there are some new faces. A franchise icon is back. One of the best perimeter defenders in the league is joining the rotation. And a young Chinese phenom has arrived in the United States.<\/p>\n

What will the Blazers look like in 2025-26? In an effort to bring you up to speed, we\u2019re providing a daily snapshot of the roster as media day approaches. Next up: Toumani Camara<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Let the countdown to the 2025-26 season begin.<\/p>\n

TOUMANI CAMARA<\/p>\n

Measurables: 6-foot-7, 229 pounds<\/p>\n

Age: 25<\/p>\n

Position: Forward<\/p>\n

2024-25 stats: 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.5 steals<\/p>\n

NBA experience: This will be his third NBA season<\/p>\n

Contract status: Camara is entering the third year of a rookie contract that will pay him $2.2 million this season<\/p>\n

Expected role: Starting forward<\/p>\n

Outlook: Camara evolved from a promising second-round draft pick into a franchise building block during his second NBA season, and the Blazers are adamant he can show even more in 2025-26. Team insiders have raved about his play over the summer \u2014 he and Donovan Clingan, sources say, consistently looked the best in volunteer offseason workouts \u2014 and praised Camara\u2019s fit on a team looking to further cement its identity around defense. A defensive monster who can guard practically any position, Camara drew an NBA-high 91 offensive fouls last season, including a league-best 31 charges. He also ranked ninth in steals (1.5 per game) and loose balls recovered (60). The impressive play earned him All-Defensive second team honors. But he also grew on offense, boosting his scoring average nearly four points (to 11.3 per game) and improving his three-point shooting nearly 4% (to 37.5%). Word at the team\u2019s practice facility is that Toumani\u2019s outside shooting has been even better this summer. He has emerged as a prototypical 3-and-D player and a near-lock to start at forward.<\/p>\n
