LONDON (AP) \u2014 Morgan Riddle\u2019s effect on Wimbledon<\/a> semifinalist Taylor Fritz\u2019s rise in the rankings has been significant. He says so himself<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Riddle has been at the All England Club this year and others in her role as a fashion influencer, telling her hundreds of thousands of social media followers how tennis has become \u201cthe chicest sport in the world.\u201d She\u2019s been featured in Vogue, Harper\u2019s Bazaar and the New York Times\u2019 Style section.<\/p>\n

She was seated at Centre Court on Friday for her boyfriend Fritz\u2019s match against Carlos Alcaraz<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Riddle frequently is at tournaments to cheer for him. They were featured in the Netflix tennis documentary \u201c Break Point<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morgan Riddle went from Minnesota to New York and multiple internships<\/p>\n

Riddle, 27, is a Minnesota native who attended Wagner College in New York City.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy the end of my junior year, I had completed seven internships,\u201d she said in a Wagner College video about the Class of 2019 member.<\/p>\n

Riddle explained that the internships included gigs at a magazine, a newspaper, a government office, a coffee company startup and a real estate company, with tasks including social media.<\/p>\n

Riddle and Fritz met about five years ago.<\/p>\n

Taylor Fritz credits Morgan Riddle\u2019s influence<\/p>\n

Fritz was the U.S. Open runner-up<\/a> last September \u2014 his first appearance in a Grand Slam final \u2014 and reached a career-high ranking of No. 4 in November.<\/p>\n

He says it\u2019s important to have someone \u201cpush you in the right direction all the time, supporting you.\u201d He spoke about Riddle\u2019s role after his 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (4) victory over Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinals.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s an obvious correlation between my results and ranking and the time we\u2019ve been together,\u201d he said. \u201cI would have to say she\u2019s been a big help to me, just kind of keeping me focused, having someone who cares and just pushes you to just do better and do the right things, be healthier.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morgan Riddle promotes fashion and explains \u2018tenniscore\u2019<\/p>\n

Riddle has worked with the All England Club to create video segments called \u201cWimbledon Threads.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wearing brands such as Chanel and Jimmy Choo, she details trends like \u201ctenniscore.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Tenniscore\u2019 isn\u2019t just about pleated skirts and vintage polos. It\u2019s about aspirational minimalism with a competitive edge,\u201d she said in a video last week entitled \u201c How Wimbledon made tennis chic<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added that Wimbledon has \u201chelped tennis become the chicest sport in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Riddle isn\u2019t afraid to throw a few zingers.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course we\u2019re here for the tennis but what was once a strictly sporting event has also turned into a global fashion spectacle. I know some of you may not want to hear that but just because the fact annoys you, doesn\u2019t make it any less true,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

That segment has 12,300 views as of Friday \u2014 a different Wimbledon video featuring a kid asking Aryna Sabalenka about pancakes has more than double that.<\/p>\n

Riddle\u2019s clips on TikTok, where she has nearly 600,000 followers, are more popular. She also has more than 450,000 followers on Instagram.<\/p>\n

Fritz often takes photos of her to post on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve definitely gotten a lot better over the last couple of years but very reluctantly,\u201d he said in an interview with The Associated Press<\/a> last year. \u201cIt\u2019s very embarrassing in public when I\u2019m taking pictures (and) people are looking at me taking pictures of her. But you got to do what you got to do sometimes. She also takes good pictures of me.\u201d<\/p>\n
