It’s been two straight days of pure domination by the European team at Bethpage Black. It’s rolled over the U.S. team to grab a 11.5-4.5 lead<\/a> entering the final day of the Ryder Cup on Sunday. Then on Sunday morning, just before the first groups teed off, Viktor Hovland officially withdrew from his singles match due to a neck injury<\/a>. That resulted in his scheduled match with Harris English being considered a tie<\/a>, which gave both teams a half point.<\/p>\n

So Europe will enter play on Sunday with a 12-5 lead, just two points away from retaining the cup. If it can pull it off, it’ll be Europe’s second straight win and their ninth in the last 12 outings.<\/p>\n

While the U.S. needs some serious help to pull it off, there are a lot of points up for grabs on Sunday in New York. Eleven players from each team will square off in singles matches Sunday to close out the three-day event. The U.S. team would need 14.5 points to pull off the upset win.<\/p>\n
