\n\tZoinks, Batman! Matthew Lillard<\/a> wants to reunite with Scooby<\/a>\u2013<\/a>Doo<\/a> scribe and DC Studios<\/a> boss James Gunn<\/a> on a new project.<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing his casting<\/a> in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again<\/a>, the actor expressed interest in joining his \u201cdear friend\u201d in gaining dual citizenship between the MCU<\/a> and DCU<\/a> by joining Gunn\u2019s newly revamped Warner Bros.<\/a> franchise.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s been a long time, I have wanted to be in a superhero world,\u201d Lillard told the crowd at Los Angeles Comic-Con, according to a clip shared by Screen Rant<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019ve wanted to be in [DCU]\u2014If anyone\u2019s curious, if you run into James Gunn, tell him I\u2019m available.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNoting that Gunn wrote Scooby-Doo (2002) and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004), in which Lillard starred as Mystery Inc. staple Shaggy, he said that the Superman<\/a> director is \u201cone of my dear friends. I keep waiting for that invitation, I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s lost in the mail.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn February, Deadline exclusively announced that Lillard joined the cast<\/a> of Daredevil: Born Again\u2018s sophomore season, although his character has not yet been revealed.<\/p>\n

\n\tLillard noted at LACC that he\u2019s not playing a superhero. \u201cI do not wear any lycra, I know you\u2019re sad,\u201d he joked to fans.<\/p>\n

\n\tBack in 2023, Gunn confirmed he\u2019s open<\/a> to casting actors in the DCU that he\u2019s previously worked with in the MCU and on other projects.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe have hundreds of roles to cast. As I\u2019ve always done, some will be brand new faces, some will be actors I\u2019ve worked with before, and some will be actors you know who I\u2019ve never worked with,\u201d wrote Gunn on X. \u201cWhat matters most is the actor fits the role and they\u2019re easy to work with.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Zoinks, Batman!
