\n\tAs AI<\/a> talent studio Xicoia<\/a> unveils its first digitally generated \u201cactor\u201d Tilly Norwood<\/a> to Hollywood, the avatar\u2019s real-life peers have some opinions.<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing Deadline\u2019s report that several talent agencies are interested<\/a> in signing Norwood, Melissa Barrera<\/a>, Kiersey Clemons<\/a> and more actors have suggested a boycott of such agencies after Xicoia founder Eline Van der Velden<\/a> teased during a Zurich Summit<\/a> panel that high-profile projects will be utilizing the technology in the near future.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHope all actors repped by the agent that does this, drop their a$$,\u201d wrote Barrera on her Instagram Story with Deadline\u2019s report. \u201cHow gross, read the room.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tClemons echoed that sentiment in the comments section, writing, \u201cOut the agents. I want names.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNot an actress actually,\u201d commented Nicholas Alexander Chavez<\/a>. \u201cNice try.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMara Wilson<\/a> also raised an important point. \u201cAnd what about the hundreds of living young women whose faces were composited together to make her? You couldn\u2019t hire any of them?\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

\n\tDespite the dystopian vibes of the innovation that is Tilly, some voiced their disapproval with a bit of levity. \u201cShe was a nightmare to work with!!!!\u201d wrote Lukas Gage<\/a> in a comment. \u201cShe couldn\u2019t hit her mark and she was late!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPart of AI production studio Particle6<\/a>, Deadline exclusively announced Van der Velden\u2019s launch of Xicoia<\/a> this week at the Zurich Film Festival<\/a> conference, designed to create, manage and monetize a new generation of hyperreal digital stars.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe were in a lot of boardrooms around February time, and everyone was like, \u2018No, this is nothing. It\u2019s not going to happen,’\u201d said Van der Velden during Saturday\u2019s panel<\/a>, moderated by Deadline\u2019s Diana Lodderhose. \u201cThen, by May, people were like, \u2018We need to do something with you guys.\u2019 When we first launched Tilly, people were like, \u2018What\u2019s that?\u2019 And now we\u2019re going to be announcing which agency is going to be representing her in the next few months.\u201d<\/p>\n
