Former Bayern Munich<\/a> assistant Hermann \u201cTiger\u201d Gerland recently retired and was asked about some players he identified for Bayern Munich to sign. <\/p>\n

As it turns out, Gerland has a mighty fine eye for talent. <\/p>\n

\u201cI recommended Erling Haaland when he was still at Molde. He was in Munich for negotiations, he wanted to earn \u20ac10-15k a month, and would have cost \u20ac2.8m. [I also recommended] Dayot Upamecano, who would have cost \u20ac2.2m before he went to Salzburg,\u201d Gerland told Kicker (as captured by @iMiaSanMia<\/a>). <\/p>\n

Imagine Bayern Munich getting in on the ground floor for Haaland or Upamecano. Maybe, someone should have been listening a little closer to what Gerland was saying, eh?<\/p>\n
