ORO VALLEY, AZ (AZFamily) \u2014 A bear-y unusual encounter was caught on camera in an Oro Valley grocery store on Monday. <\/p>\n
In the video, you can see a bear cub dash through the aisle of a Fry\u2019s Grocery store on First Avenue and Oracle Road<\/a>. Police say the bear made a couple of quick laps and then ran out. No one was hurt.<\/p>\n Oro Valley police told Arizona\u2019s Family sister station, KOLD 13News, that this was not their first incident involving a bear<\/a> in the past week. On Friday, Painted Sky Elementary School<\/a> was asked to shelter in place after a bear was sighted nearby. <\/p>\n Witnesses told 13News that the bear came out of the wash and was on the sidewalk. Neighbors say that while wildlife isn\u2019t uncommon in the area, they\u2019ve never seen bears.<\/p>\n Arizona Game and Fish said it\u2019s been a busy year for bears in southern Arizona. They said they\u2019re monitoring several in the Oro Valley and Tucson area, which often come down the mountain looking for food.<\/p>\n State officials say the best thing to do when encountering a bear is to scare it away with loud noises and get away as quickly and safely as possible.<\/p>\n Police could not confirm if it was the same bear in both incidents.<\/p>\n See a spelling or grammatical error in our story?
