The rookie already seems to be finding his place in Phoenix. Fans, teammates, staff, and gameplay: everything is aligning. Yesterday, he specifically addressed this last point in front of the media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A Foundational Training Camp<\/p>\n

After four days of camp, Koby Brea did not hide his enthusiasm for long with the media. He feels happy to be evolving with this group, a group where everyone lifts each other up:<\/p>\n

It\u2019s going great. I get to play with the best athletes in the world. I see where i\u2019m at with them. And i feel like i\u2019ve been doing great […] Everybody\u2019s showing what they\u2019re about and what they\u2019re going to bring to the team.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s not all. He also emphasizes the trust that the team gives him on the field, especially in offensive plays:<\/p>\n

I\u2019m somebody that i\u2019m going just come in. I\u2019m always going to be ready […] i\u2019m always pay it back to them. So i just appreciate the trust in my teammates, that anytimes they see me, open to the side or anything, they\u2019re always kicking it to me and they want me to shoot the ball.<\/p>\n

He goes even further by emphasizing the importance of the first collective camp for the cohesion of the group, both on and off the field. This should reassure the staff and the Suns fans who were seeing the 2025-2026 roster together for the first time.<\/p>\n

His Game and the Transition to the NBA<\/p>\n

He will discuss his ability to adapt between college and the NBA \u2014 playing with more calm, taking the time to read and analyze the game \u2014 this is precisely what Jordan Ott (who plays an important role in the rookie\u2019s development) and his staff are looking for in their rotations:<\/p>\n

The Game is slowing down for me […] I think every practice, i\u2019m starting to feel more comfortable […] i\u2019m really able to show my best version of myself.<\/p>\n

He also talks about being reliable, being primarily a player with a positive impact, both offensively and defensively. These statements align perfectly with the identity the franchise would like to build.<\/p>\n

Another noteworthy element: He feels capable of having more responsibilities in the game, in the creation and finishing of plays:<\/p>\n

I\u2019m willing to do whatever is needed […] I could take a close-out, put the ball on the floor, make a play for myself or others, I could boogie you a little bit. I could do whatever\u2019s needed. So I think with time you know I\u2019ll be able to show more of that.<\/p>\n

An ambitious speech, but credible given his adaptation in the group.<\/p>\n

We will finish on a defensive note; he knows full well that defense and fast play are elements that Phoenix would like to make central to their game, so he worked a lot on this aspect during the offseason, which should reassure the staff and his teammates.<\/p>\n

Koby Brea will probably not be in Jordan Ott\u2019s first rotations.
